W7 HD Foundation Review

Hello My beauties I hope you are all well and not missing me too much ;) hehe
I will be back full time after tomorrow as I will finally have my new laptop back I cant frigging wait :) :)
So today I bring to you a new foundation I have been trying out and its Called the W7 HD Foundation.  These bottles of foundation literally cost me €4 each and to be honest I was very sceptic about them.  I usually am when it comes to the more cheaper side of foundations.  I have never tried anything from W7 before and now that its available in my local pharmacy, I decided to put my doubts aside and try them out :)
First of all let me share with you a little about the company and what they promise us :)
W7 Make Up, the inspiration of two entrepreneurial young men from West London was created in 2002. Their aim – that every woman should have access to an extensive range of high quality cosmetics at an affordable price – is now well on the way to becoming a reality. The company has grown year on year and now W7 boasts a collection of over 500 products including: nail polish, lipsticks and glosses, eye shadows and more mascaras than you could dream off.
So I have purchased a few different items from this range but couldn't wait to try out the foundation first.  What I did notice first of all is that there is only 5 shades to choose from which can be a pain when trying to match up to your skin tone and judging by the bottles these are all either neutral or yellow toned shades.  I ended up choosing 2 shades just to be sure
The shades available is Buff which is the lightest shade available and to be honest will actually suit someone with a very pale complexion as it looks very light in the bottle.  Then we have Natural Beige & Natural Tan which is the shades I chose.  Next there is Sand Beige which doesn't look too far off Natural Tan in the bottle only a tiny bit darker and lastly there is True Beige which is the last and most darkest shade.
The foundation comes in a glass bottle much like the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation etc.  It also comes with a Pump dispenser which I always like to see for hygiene purposes.  But what I love more about this is that the pump unscrews open unlike the bourjois healthy mix so you can scoop out whatever product is left when your done.
The shades are both off for me to be honest but I think I would get away with using the Natural Beige more in the winter.  I thought at first it was near perfect until I applied it to my face and found it was alot lighter than I am now.  Thanks to the great weather we have been having I have that to blame but come winter it will be a good match.  Plus I can warm it up using a bronzer.  The finish you get from this is more a a neutral finish.    Natural Tan is alot darker than my skin tone and I also found it to be a little on the orange side.
You can mix both shades to made another shade win which i have done in my photo below and came up with a shade suitable for me to wear right now.  I used two pumps of the Natural Beige and a pump of the Natural tan The first swatch below is the finish shade
So There isnt really any promises made about this foundation but judging by whats said on the bottle is that you are going to get 12 hours wear from this plus a flawless finish.
Do We get that ?
My first impressions when swatching this foundation was that I was going to get at least a medium coverage finish from this due to how thick in consistency it is.  Then when I applied it I found a total different view of it.  I applied this with my Blank Canvas Cosmetics F20 brush in which I use most of the time with liquid foundations.  I found it applied evenly and easily.  The finish of course is light which I was surprised with.  When I applied another layer there was in fact a little more coverage but only reached light to medium coverage.  What I mean by that is I could still visibly see the pigmentation on my face which normally a medium coverage foundation would cover up and also I could see my freckles clearly.
I actually really like the finish of this foundation as it gives a semi matte finish.  My cheeks were glowing yet I didnt look oily.  Lasting power is not as long as it says on the bottle for sure because even after setting this with a translucent powder I found it started to wear off in places after about 5 to 6 hours of wear.  Another thing I noticed as I have normal to combination skin (sometimes suffering with an oily t zone)  is that I looked very shiny on my t zone after about 6 hours so word of advice bring powder with you while wearing this.  Here is a before and after picture of me wearing the foundation :)
Overall I think this foundation is best suited for people who have normal to combination skin anyone who is oily I feel this will only make you look too shiny.  I found for the first time in a long time a foundation this affordable has actually impressed me.  I mean yes It doesn't last as long as it says it does but with a little touch up you could actually get a 12 hour wear out of this.  Obviously I had to add extra coverage under my eyes and to cover up my pigmentation with concealer but if you do not have much to cover this is a perfect everyday foundation for you.  This would more or less put you in mind of a bb cream or tinted moisturiser only with a little more coverage.
I really hope you enjoyed this review and if you have any questions on this post them below :)  If you are interested in trying this foundation out and dont know where to purchase it dont worry I have you covered :)  W7 website has a list of places where you can purchase their products from.  Here is another site who sell W7:  Cara Pharmacy Website
Until next time

It looks amazing on your skin - and you really can't beat that price! I like that they have a shade that suits lighter skin tones. That is one thing I struggle with a lot...finding a foundation that is pale enough! Thanks for this review :)

I generally like W7 products but I stick to my Lancome foundation.

I've had this in the lightest shade and really liked it, my skin is really oily but it lasted well for me and I found it gave amazing coverage! Isn't it weird how a product can vary even between shades?!

I have found W7 to be hit and miss, I like some of their stuff but others are awful! I haven't tried their foundation, I would be afraid it would be cakey on dry skin. It does look lovely on you, though xx
