Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation Review

Hey my beauties how are you all doing today :)
I have made a promise to myself that I am going to start to review some of the newest foundations I have tried tested and basically finished up and bought again :) Sounds good already doesnt it :)  Well after I finished my beloved NYX HD Foundation I repurchased but got the wrong shade somehow so I ended up buying a different foundation closer to home because I would be waiting for at least 1-2 weeks for my NYX one to arrive.  Then When i started buying closer to home I kept buying as it was much easier to be honest to work out shades etc.  So my beloved NYX is on stand by for now im afraid :)
Since then I have tried some different brands one been Bourjois so today I am going to review my most recently bought foundation because to be honest this foundation and I didnt see eye to eye first time around :) :) but now since we got to know each other a bit better I am having a really good relationship with it ;)
Ok so let me tell you why I went for this foundation in the first place.  Seeing as I am at the age I am and seeing as I stupidly didnt look after my skin in the earlier year (lesson well and truly learned) I ended up getting dark spots from the sun basically I have pigmentation from sun damage on my forehead especially tut tut I know but I am well and truly SPFing all the way now
I also have dark circles from been a mum of 5 and surviving on around 4 to 5 hours sleep a night.  I do suffer with discolouration too.  So I thought hmmmmm my face is a real tester for this foundation
Bourjois state that this foundation has 3 colour correcting pigments to help correct the most comment skin faults we all tend to suffer
  • Yellow Pigment which is used to correct dark circles
  • Mauve Pigments which is used to correct dull complexions
  • Green Pigments which is used to correct redness
Another plus about this foundation is that it has SPF 10 I like that.  After all even when the sun is not shining you still need protection SPF protect that is so my mind is at ease when I wear this.  Do not jump to the conclusion that because this has SPF it doesnt photograph well as I will be putting it to the flash test later to see ;)

Plus Bourjois Promises that this foundation lasts 16 hours.
Enough about that let move on to the packaging and the shade shall we

What I love about this foundation is A) it comes in a glass bottle which in all fairness is alot better than plastic.  It means you are get quality for your money.  B) it comes with a pump perfect !!!! I love that as it hygenic and neat and tidy and no spillages :)  Plus you have control of how much product comes out of the bottle.
There is only 5 shades available
I ended up choosing the lightest shade which is 51 Light Vanilla

Remember I told you at the start that I wasnt entirely impressed at the start with this foundation The reason is because the consistency at the first few pumps was very watery, the scent wasnt exactly attractive in fact I thought I got a bad batch and maybe it was gone off and when I applied with my normal brush which was the Blank Canvas F20 Flat Top brush it seemed the moment the foundation hit my face it sank into every pore and fine line I had Oh I hated it and took it right off.
Then a few days later I thought ok Maybe try applying this a different way
but for that I shook the beejeebees out of it and bam the consistency was thicker that before

Then I grabbed my Blank Canvas Double Ended Painter Style Foundation Brush and applied it to my face with great fear lol but bam instant perfection I couldnt believe how easy and fantastic this foundation was to apply.  I was totally amazed at how different this foundation looked on me.  It took very little effort to apply and took very little to apply.
Plus it didnt soak into my skin the way it did the first time.  So word of advice shake the bottle before use and also use a foundation brush to apply or a beauty blender if you suffer with pores and fine lines.
The shade I got is the perfect match for me.  It has a yellow undertone to it.  I did find the foundation does oxidise a little maybe a half a shade darker than the pumped out shade in which was perfect for me
The coverage is light to medium, light been 1 layer medium been 2nd layer but does not build up to full im afraid so any of you ladies looking for a full coverage foundation will not get that from this foundation.

I let the 1st layer dry before applying a 2nd layer to show you how much of a difference it makes.  I also applied a 3rd layer to try it out and it made no different

So now for the next photos I have been dreading lol come one ladies who likes putting up before pictures of themselves seriously lol
Ok I have one before and after in natural light

Now for the Flash which always brings out your flaws more
beware!!!!!
And of course I will look a little yellow lol but thats because of the lighting and of course the flash of camera.
Now the evidence speaks for itself you can even see I have a blemish and the foundation done well covering it up :)  I did find that I had to use a brightener under the eyes along with the foundation but no concealer.  It covered up the dark spots on my fore head which is great :)  It also covered up alot of my freckles but not totally which im happy with after all freckles are natural :)
Over all I am very pleased with the finish I had to apply two layers on my forehead but the rest of my face has only 1 layer.  The finish is semi-matte.  Lasting power to be honest I would not say it will last 16 hours on the face I found it did start to wear off slowly after about 7 hours but not noticeably until 10 hours if you are oily you will find that you will need your compact with you to top up.  The scent as i mentioned earlier is still there but to be honest you dont notice it after applying it and its not strong.  It has that slight old fashioned foundation scent.
I am not a fan of that scent but with this foundation I can tolerate it and to be honest it has not turned me off using it and i have been using this for the past two weeks non stop.  It certainly will not replace my love for the NYX HD foundation or for the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation which I absolutely adore and will be reviewing very soon but its not the worst I have tried of foundations.
This foundation cost me about 12 euro and is worth it for everyday use
Have you tried this foundation
Would you try it ?
Until Next time

#28 Days of Kisses *Day 13 Lipstick Tag

Hey My beauties how are you all doing today :)
Well todays post has to be on a romantic shade seeing as its Valentines tomorrow :)
Are you all looking forward to it???
If some of you are shouting no to me well that means one thing!!!!
The right person as yet to come to you but that shouldnt stop you taking advantage of the day.  Organise a meet up with you other friends who have nothing planned and go out and spend the evening together be it bowling cinema etc it will be fun.  Either way do not under any circumstances get down in the dumps on the day after all you have plenty of them to celebrate in the future with that right person so thats something to look forward to.  For the ones who have luckily found the right person have fun no matter what you have planned.
Anyways back to my lips of the day as i said above this lippy is well suited for tomorrow even for your single ladies out there this will surely get your noticed ;)  Not only is it bright and cheerful and oh so fabulous its so so affordable to
This is the most Romantic attract lipstick out of the essential line from e.l.f Cosmetics aka Eyes Lips Face in my eyes of course :)
This fantastic lipstick only costs £1.50 on the UK site
This is an unbelievable price for what you get from this lipstick.
Ok the Packaging isnt exactly what you call lovely or anything but sure what about it its not like we are paying for that when we are buying it hehe and ok some of the lipsticks do break if you put a little too much pressure on it but as long as you store them in a cool place and not have them in your pocket your away in a hack :) :)
What you are getting from these lipsticks is unbelievable pigmentation so much so that literally one coat would do especially with this shade
You are also getting unbelievable moisture from these again especially from this lipstick as it is 100% matte
You are also getting a really good wear out of them at least 3 to 4 hours depending on the shade before reapplying
The formula is very creamy and that is why some of these lipsticks tend to break if they are in any heat whatsoever.  I have quite a few shades and at least half of the broke on me but thats easily fixed by depotting them and in fact I find it so much handier with them been depotted :)
Let me go ahead and show you this amazing shade
Now this bright red will not be every ones cup of tea but you can wear it how you want it either a light coat or heavy choice is yourself wither way it looks amazing :)
The one thing I have to say is you will surely need a lip liner with this little beauty because it is so creamy it will bleed on you if you do not wear one.  If you do not wish to use a liner there is always a transparent lip primer which will help too
In the picture below I have applied the lipstick without a a lip liner or primer just so you see the true beauty of this lipstick on its own.
Bammmmm A True Bright Red :) :)
I love it :)
So thats my lips of the day!!!! Whats yours :)
Until tomorrows post
Keep safe and happy and healthy and enjoy the day no matter what you are doing for the day and night
Check out the ladies who have also taken part in #28Kisses posts you might see something you want to try out for yourself :)

    MUA Gel Eyeliner "Underground"

Hello there my gorgeous beauties.  I hope you are all well on this fine Thursday Morning :)
Well I say fine as I look out the window it isnt so fine as its dull cold and just down right blah!!!! But if you be positive you can make even the dullest looking days look bright ;)
So todays review isnt exactly a new product plus I am sure most of you MUA fans out there have already tried this but for some of you who havent or are wondering about it I decided to review this little beauty for you.
Its the MUA Gel Eyeliner.  They are not exactly New New but they were only released at the end of the summer last year.  There are 4 shades to choose from on the site and they cost £3 each.
The shades that are available are Black which is named "Underground" , Brown which is named "On the Move", A Pewter shade which is named "Fairground" and Lastly a Blue teal which is named "Tribe"
I opted to get "Underground" just to try it out, I was actually quite proud of myself not ordering all shades but I was just been careful to try out one before going back for more ;)
The packaging is ever so cute and small I have to admit.  I was surprised by how small it was and is.  The gel liner comes in a little black plastic tub.  It also comes with a little eyeliner brush which clicks into the lid.  It can be used either on its own which is short or it clicks into the base of the lid for more length what ever suits you .  I actually quite like the brush ok sometimes its not suitable for a more thinner line but it will make a nice medium line and is actually quite sturdy.  It washes well too.  For people who do not own alot of brushes they will be delighted with this little edition.  For people who have more than a million eyeliner brushes of all shapes and sizes might find this a waste of time unless they are travelling and dont want to bring alot of brushes.
What amazed me more was the gel liner itself.  Its smooth and very creamy.  The pigmentation is amazing as I said above I got the shade "Underground" which is a black shade.  This black is jet black not grey BLACK which I love.  When it dries it dries matte black again what I love again.  This doesnt even have to be built up for pigmentation literally one swipe does the job I love it.  The liner doesnt dry instantly which give you time to smudge or blend or what ever you want to do with it, you have at least 10 seconds or a little more to so whatever you want before it sets.  When its sets it stays put :)
Overall I am impressed with the Liner I found its lasts more than 8 hours on my eyes.  Its smudge-proof and easy on the eyes.  It doesnt flake but I found that if you layer it too much it will flake.  Its so so easy to apply and need little to no effort to apply.  I did find it does smudge on my water line but my eye does tend to water a little throughout the day.
This Lasts quite a while even though its small as its so pigmented and requires very little for each application.  I have this liner about 4 months and there is still no sign of it drying out any time soon
I highly recommend this liner especially for the top and bottom lash line as what more do you need in a liner unless you are looking for something waterproof :)
Check out MUA site to see the swatches of the other shades :) in which im sure I will be purchasing in the need future ;)
on layer on the skin made with brush supplied :)
So thats it for this review everyone i hope you found this helpful
Have you tried this yet and what is your opinion on it :)
    Until next time

    NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils Review

Hello my beauties How are you all doing today?  How did your Halloween go?
Ours went brilliantly the twins had a ball and loved the whole first time out in the dark, fireworks, fire and of course trick or treat :) They were a little frightened of the loud bangers but soon forgot all about that once they were able to feast on some of their goodies hehehe
So today I am showing you my little collection of the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils.  I am sure at this stage you all know what they are as they have been out for some time and have been hyped about alot over You Tube and Blogs but here is my view and swatches on these.
A radiant eye liner that also doubles as an eye shadow. Made with a blend of mineral oil and powder, our creamy Jumbo Eye Pencils glide on effortlessly—no pulling, tugging or fading—and come in a rainbow of vivid hues. Some call her chubby. We say voluptuous. Available in 28 shades.
Now what surprises me more is the fact that i have only got 6 out of the 28 shades lol  but i have to say the shade i do have i am very happy with and use quite often as i see it there is no point in having alot of shades and not using half of them :) but there are more shades on the site that have caught my eye and i will more than likely purchase them and do an update for you all :)
So i will go ahead and show you all the shades and talk a little more about them :)
Black Bean:  This is a very popular shade of course :) Its a jet back shade with no shimmer This shade is perfect as a base for the dark smokey eye literally one swipe of this gives us an amazing amount of product and and pay off this is extremely creamy
    Next up is
Milk:  Another favourite shade in the beauty world as its a matte white shade perfect for bright coloured eyeshadow it help intensify them amazingly.  This too is very creamy and very pigmented a little harder to blend than black bean but perhaps that is because it is a brighter shade.  I use this on my water line sometimes to brighten me up a bit and it lasts a good 5 hours before fading.
    Next up
Cottage Cheese:  This is another popular shade in the beauty industry.  This is a shimmer frosty white shade.  It can be used as a highlight or as a base.  I love using this as a base and placing my matte eyeshadows on top Cottage Cheese surely jazzes them up :) As a high light this works amazingly on the inner corners of my eyes or under the brow I love it :)
    next is
French Fries:  This is on the shimmery side.  This certainly looks nothing like what it shows on the pictures on the site.  This is a lovely bronzy brown with gold shimmer.  This gives a metallic y looking payoff :) perfect for jazzing up your matte eyeshadows :)
    Next is
Yogurt:  This is a fantastic highlight shade :) Its a lovely metallic champagne with silvery shimmer.  I use this on the inner corners if my eyes.  This works well on its own n for a "non makeup day" Its makes your eyes look wide awake.
    And Lastly
Purple Velvet:  Well you know already i love this shade hehe.  This is a cool toned plum rather than purple even though this shade is stunning its hugely pigmented a little harder to blend as it seems a little more oily but works fantastic as a base love it :)
All swatches were taken in natural light and with no primer underneath
Over all I really like these I think they make a great base to intensify your eyeshadows.  I have a few palettes here that are not great in pigmentation but using these as a base really helps bring out the shades.
I love how creamy and soft they are just one swipe and you have instant colour.  They dont feel too wet or sticky just creamy, creamy enough for you to set with whatever eyeshadows you want to apply over them.  Now to be honest there is a couple of not so good things to tells you and that would be
    (1.  They crease without a doubt so if you are applying these i would recommend using a primer first please don't plan on wearing these on their own because within an hour you will notice them creasing this is why i have been telling you they work better as bases because you will be setting a cream with powder aka eye-shadow.
    (2.  If you suffer with very oily lids you will find these will crease even with a primer But you can work at this you can apply these very lightly and then you will find they will last longer
I especially find these brilliant for pigments if you are not used to using pigments and end up with alot of fallout all over your face lol I'm sure all of you have been there well using these great pencils before packing on the pigments works brilliantly and creates less fall out for us :)
Over all I think they are brilliant value and a great way to experiment with different looks and especially brilliant for intensifying your eyeshadows :)
You can purchase these literally on any site that sells NYX Products here is some sites who sell internationally.
Cherry Culture they are currently $3.40
Beauty Emporium (Irish Site ships internationally) They are selling for 5.40 euros each
Crush Cosmetics (Australian Site who ship internationally) Selling for $6.70 each
Joys Cosmetics (ebay store top rated seller) Can buy in bulk like i did
So thats some the sites where you can buy them :)
I hope this helped and i hope you enjoyed my review
Have you tried these out yet?
    Until next time

Catrice New Defining Blush in Rose Royce and Think Pink Review

Hey my beauties how are you all doing today :)
Wow the sun is shining today again I love it I love Autumn.
Today I am reviewing A new range of blush that Catrice Cosmetics only released in September along with other new permanent products to their collection.  I was excited about the blushes in particular as I was fond of the older "Duo Defining Blushes" especially in shade "Pink Grapefruit Shake" which had half blush half highlighter.  I still to this day find myself reaching for it alot.  I was dissappointed when Catrice decided to discontinue them :(
Here is a picture of the old Duo Defining Blush if you do come across it grab it as it is beautiful
So instead of getting rid of the blushes altogether Catrice decided to just get rid of the Duo and make it 1 :) To be honest i prefer that as i found i was using the blush more than the highlight anyway
Catrice release 5 new blushes altogether.  So far i got 2 of the 5 .  You are getting 5g of blush for about 4 euro which is brilliant as these will last a while.  The packaging is plain and simple but sturdy, I like that!!! Not only that but you can depot these easily into your own empty palette :)
According to Catrice:  The ultra-fine, highly-pigmented powder blush with vitamin C and E spreads easily, sets fresh accents, emphasizes your cheekbones and models the contours of your face. Top marks for a perfect finish.
First up is 020 Rose Royce :)  This shade is a perfect shade for anyone who has fair to medium skintone.  What i love is the name Rose Royce lol how do they do it :)
This is a really pretty nuetral pink.  A perfect blush for every day use.  I find this nice to give me just a nice natural pretty healthy flush.  It can be a little sheer on me and i have to build it up but it is buildable.
    Next up
040 Think Pink:  This is my favourite out of the 2 so far :)  you can even tell just by looking at it that its going to be pigmented.  This is a beautiful bright pink with a little orange undertone to it. Oh this is really really pigmented ok its a little powdery when swatched but nothing too crazy and you dont loose alot of product.  This is perfect for any skintone and gives a fantastic flush of colour to your cheeks I even see myself wearing this alot in the winter :)
I am super excited about these blushes.  I think they are even better in pigmentation than the Duo Blushes they used to do.  They are easy to apply.  They a silk smooth and feel amazing on the skin.  They last a good part of the day you will get at least 6 hours out of them before you notice a little fading.  I notice i get a beautiful natural glow from these especially from Think Pink.  I highly recommend these to anyone as they are super affordable and well worth every cent.
Here i am wearing a light sweep of "Think Pink"
Believe me when i tell you ladies i have no natural flush on my cheeks unfortunately :( I wasnt blessed with it.
Have you tried any of Catrice's Blushes?
    Until next time
Lots of Love Luck and Laughter
