Sharing the Love #21: Interview with Karen from Lovely Girlie Bits

Hey My Beauties How are you all today :)
I am so so excited to reveal our next guest in the share the love series :)
I am sure you all know them especially if you are an Irish reader but its the one and only
Karen from Lovely Girlie Bits.  She and her sister write an absolutely amazing blog which is one of my all time favourites plus they have started up a channel on YouTube in which I LOVE they are hilarious together I always watch their videos over and over when I need some cheering up or just want a good laugh and Karen is so funny they way she goes on Plus they do amazing detailed reviews and everything else beauty wise :) :) I love these girls to bits and so delighted they are part of my share the love series and guess what I have had the privilege of meeting both Karen and Joanne not once but twice :)  They are just as lovely in person :)  Ok I am rambling :) Here is my interview with the Lovely Karen :)

1.  Hey Karen Welcome to my blog :) :) Can you tell us a little about yourself :)
I'm Karen, a thirty-something who loves all things beauty and has a dog Bailey who thinks he's a person.  He's me in doggy form, so basically a brat!  But I don't wee on the carpet in the spare room.

2.  Tell us a little about your blog
The blog is mainly a beauty blog with a smidge of fashion!  I write like I'm my reader and write posts I'd want to read on a blog.  It's really important for me to get my personality across which can be hard in text, but most of the readers get me, so I'm happy out!

3.  What inspired you to start up your blog
I started the blog as a distraction from everything that was going on in my life at the time.  I figured I'd so much makeup and will never run out of anything to blog about and three years later, I'm still going strong!  It's a second job now really.  One I don't get paid for, but I absolutely love it and can't see myself stopping anytime soon!

4.  What is your dream job?
I'd love to be able to blog full time.  That's my dream job in a nutshell.  Getting paid to do what you love is the dream!

5.  Can you share with us some of your favourite blogs to read ?
I love reading lots of blogs and some of my favourites are Fluffandfripperies.com, Emeraldeyeliner.com, Totalmakeupaddict, bloodspot.ie, Cherrysuedointhedo.com and of course yours Nina!

6.  Your favorite skin care, hair care and makeup products?
I'm lucky that I get to try lots of fantastic products and I have to give a shout out to Origins Clean Energy Cleansing Oil, La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5, La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Mask, L'Oreal Mythic Hair Oil, Trevor Sorbie Smoothing Spray, Bourjois Rouge Shine lipsticks, Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, Smashbox Eye Brightening Mascara.  I could go on, believe me!

7   If you could give one piece of advice to someone who is thinking of starting up their own blog what would it be?
I could talk for Ireland on this!  But if I could just give one piece of advice, it would be to prepare to work hard.  When I started blogging, there were a handful of Irish beauty blogs and now there are hundreds.  This means that it can be hard to stand out in a crowd of girls who are all blogging about the same thing.  There are no shortcuts in becoming a successful blogger, well, no honest ones anyway, but if you plug away, write about what you have if you can't afford to buy new products and let your personality shine through, then there's no looking back!

8.  Can You tell us what is in you handbag?? (hehehe I like been nosey?  Include a picture ?
My handbag is a holy mess right now.  I have actual handbag shame... I think if I took a photo of my house, it would have less than what's inside my bag!  And I wonder why I have a sore shoulder!  Ideally I'd like to carry just my wallet, sunglasses, little makeup bag and keys.  In fact I have everything ever made in it and really should clear it out or start bringing my carry on suitcase around with me!

9.  Where else apart from your blog can we find you aka twitter facebook etc.
   I'm @lovelygirlybits on Twitter
Blog is http://www.lovelygirliebits.com/
Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lovelygirliebitscom/142891099093615

I just wanted to say thanks a million to Nina for having me do this interview!  I don't know how she does it with all the chiddlers and puts me to shame!  Her blog is my absolute favourite for swatches and the time she puts into each post really shows.  So if you're a new blogger, take some time and root around her blog!

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Eyeshadows in "On and On Bronze" & "Pink Gold"

Well Hello There everyone :) :)
I hope you are all well :)
I am so sorry that I have been very slow with my reviews I have had a tough couple of weeks
If you follow me on facebook you would know why :)
Unfortunately we had noticed one of our pups Patch got very ill very quick and had to be rushed into doggy hospital where today he is still there but not only that a few days later our other pup Buster got sick with the same illness but didnt survive we had to decide to let him go to sleep :( it was so so sad and very draining sitting in front of a laptop I just didnt have the energy or the want to blog im sure alot of you understand.
Today I feel a little more spirited and missed blogging so here I am :) :)
Today I am reviewing 2 brand new Maybelline 24HR Colour Tattoo eyeshadows that I have added to my collection.  Some of you already know I have quite a few of these in my collection :)  If you missed out on that review you can click here to see it I reviewed 10 of them altogether :) :)
Today I have 2 more to share with you :) :)

I absolutely Love the packaging on these eyeshadows.  They are solid glass with a lid that screw tight shut.  The fact that they do not get exposed until you open them means they do not dry out easily and are as good as new even a year later (thats how long I have my other ten shades).  Another thing I love about the packaging is the glass is clear which means you can easily detect the shades you want which saves time and effort lol
I bought these two eyeshadows from Boots.ie in which they cost €7.49 each or at the moment they are 3 for 2 ;)  which in my eyes is absolutely amazing value for them :) :)
If you have never heard of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's before here is the low down to what they are
Maybelline Claim :  Dare to wear Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel eyeshadow. With up to 24HR staying power. Popping colour that glides on. Get inked!
Our technology creates super -saturated shadow. Cream Gel smooth’s on for vibrant colour that does not fade.
Out of the 10 shades I have reviewed before 8 of them surely lived up to the Claim I absolutely love them they are amazing.  The formula on the other 2 shades I hated as they were very hard to blend and would not settled on my lid no matter what I did with them.  So Let me show you my 2 new shades
On and On Bronze:  When I first saw this shade on the site I thought Hmmmm Looks very very like Bad to the Bronze which is one of my absolute favourites of all time :)
When I got this little beauty in my hands I just couldn't help but swatch it straight away to see was I right.  I was very close :)  There is a slight difference between them
On and On Bronze is a strong metallic Bronze shade with a cool toned finish where as Bad to the Bronze is less metallic bronze and more on the slight frosty side and has a warmer finish.

To the eye of a non beauty obsessive a swatch of each beside each other would look the same but to us fabulous beauty lovers and MUA's we would see alot of difference between the 2 :)  Anyways I love this shade its stunning and very very pigmented indeed.  Its so pigmented you have to apply lightly and build it up as it dries very quickly if you apply alot in one go it will look chunky on your lid which does not look well at all :)   If you like Bad to the Bronze you will love this shade :)

next up is

Pink Gold:  Oh This shade is stunning believe me :)   I have used this shade quite a bit the past couple of weeks :)  I am just in love with this shade it really is amazing.  There is no guessing what this shades is the name speaks for itself.  Its a stunning light pinky shade with shimmers of gold going through it.  It gives a slight frosty finish and looks amazing on its own.  I use this quite alot as a base as it makes like pinky powder eyeshadows more intense looking.  Alot of people might actually used this as a blush.  What I found with this shade is that it makes my hazel eyes pop.  I have a mixture of green, blue and brown in my eyes but when wearing this on its own it draws out the green in my eyes more :)  LOVE IT :)

Both eyeshadows are very creamy.  They blend out very easy and look amazing on their own :)

I will show you a look I did using "Pink Gold" as a base for my eyes in this picture I used a generous amount of Pink Gold and applied the pink of Wet N Wilds "Sweet as Candy" on top

These eyeshadows definitely last all day long I have put them to the 12 hour test but to be honest i think that is good enough for anyone because been realistic no one wears makeup for a full 24 hours :)
Everyone should at least try one of these to see how fabulous.
Have you tried these yet ?
Until Next time

1.  Hey Ashley Welcome to my blog :) :) Can you tell us a little about yourself :)
Hi Nina thank you for this great opportunity I am so thankful.
A little about me is I'm a almost 27 year young Mother of 2 beautiful children which are 6 and 4 and they are my everything. I am a Canadian but I live in Ireland now and have lived here for 6 and 1/2 years now. My husband is Irish and we meet, dated and married in Canada. (Long story) :)
I have a strong passion for makeup. I love buying, trying and talking about makeup. I would love to buy, try and review makeup for a living I truly love makeup. I love when people ask me for advise or any questions they have and it amazes me that they will trust my opinions on products. I love that feeling of helping people out.

2.  Tell us a little about your blog
Well the name of my blog is CosmeticEye because my husband says I truly have an eye for cosmetics and when we shop I always have to look at cosmetics. So yes my husband came up with the name for me. :) When I started my blog It was a hobby for me that when I had time I would write in it, but now my blog and youtube channel are still my hobby but even means more to me then I thought it would. I would love to keep going and help people out and truly I love to help people and talk to people around the world about cosmetics. I am not a makeup artist but I do have a strong passion in makeup and love knowing that I help people out and meeting great people through my blog and youtube channel.

3.  What inspired you to start up your blog
What inspired me to start my blog was the passion for makeup but also when I moved to Ireland I didn't know anyone and it was hard. I just had a baby only less then 2 months before we moved. I was 20 and married which is rare in Ireland. It was hard to get out there and make friends. I needed to find something I was into that could give me something to do. I needed a hobby, and it took me a while to get my blog going but after I was more settled in Ireland and got a okay camera I started to do my blog. I believe my blog has really helped me to feel more confident and I feel more stronger as a person. I was a little nervous that no one would like me and follow but my blog is growing and people do comment and that makes me so happy.

4.  What is your dream job?
My dream job would have to be working with a makeup company, trying there items out and reviewing them. I would love to maybe one day have my own makeup brand or something like that.

6.  Your favorite skin care, hair care and makeup products?
-I am actually using Avon skincare still even though it left Ireland now. I am using there 25+ day and night cream got it just before they left Ireland and just started using it. :)
-For my hair I am using Herbal Essence Shampoo for dry/damaged/frizz hair and then when out of the shower when my hair is still damp I use some Moroccan Argon Oil from Avon.
-My favorite makeup right now, this is tough...... MUA right now but its back and forth with e.l.f. I am loving my FashionistA blushes right now as well which you can get on the MUA online site.

I would just say if you want to start up a blog do it its so fun and rewarding.

8.  Can You tell us what is in you handbag?? (hehehe I like been nosey?  Include a picture ?
Of course I have a pink sunglasses case which I also have hair elastics in as well. My wallet which has no money in it right now. :) I have my makeup bag which is pink with brown strips and has tweezers, EOS lip balm, Vasaline, whatever lipstick or gloss I am wearing that day, a mirror. I also carry my house and garage keys. 2 little Kleenex pack and my camera which isn't in the picture as I am using it to take the picture. Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Peach on the Beach

Hello my beauties :)
How are you all doing :)
I am a sucker for lip products actually I am a sucker for all beauty products full stop but to be honest lip products and blushes are my favourite I just cant help myself like how many lip products and blushes does a girl really need in her life (lots when it comes to me anyways you should see my collection :O)  Anyways to be honest My first ever Lip Crayon was the ever so famous Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm Stains and I loved them that much I have 11 of them in my collection :)  Since then I have noticed quite a few brands coming out with Lip crayons etc with the same idea and too be honest I have tried a few and they never passed the test for me they never won over Revlon's beauties :)
Today I bring you yet another Lip Crayon this time by Bourjois :)  I was more drawn to these because they almost look the same as the Revlon just bitten seriously the packaging couldnt be any different.  Now obviously I knew there would be one difference between the 2 and that would be that the Revlon Just Bitten is a stain which means long lasting colour but apart from that I wanted to see did it match up to my favourites :)
Bourjois offers 4 different shades of their New Lip Crayons there are:
Red Sunrise
Fuchia Libre
Orange Punch and Peach on the Beach
Each lip crayon costs €10.99/£7.99 or 3 for 2 ate the moment on Boots.ie which is not far off the Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm Stains which are €11.20 or 2 for €15.
The Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons were released in July of this year and I have already seen alot of reviews about them.  So I just had to try these out for myself and was a good girl by only picking one :)
Bourjois claims A new generation formula that provides a bare lips sensation thanks to its sensory, light and non-sticky texture. With a silk extract formula, Colour Boost ensures comfort and hydration for 10 hours Does the Lip Crayon live up to its claims ??

I decided to choose Peach on the Beach because I was looking for a fun bright shade and that's exactly what I got "Peach on the Beach" is a gorgeous Peachy Pink shade and very bright :)  I was expecting this shade to be sheer but in fact its very very pigmented and suits my tanned skin very very well :)  One coat of this is perfect for everyday but you can build it up to what ever intensity you like :)

Applying this Lip crayon is an absolute dream you could do it without having to look in the mirror.  Exactly like the Revlon Just bitten and feels extremely moisturising on the the lips.  When "Peach on the Beach is first applied you surely see the peachy pink shade on the lips for a while but after it wears off a little you see your lips colour change to a more pinky shade.  The balm is transferable even after a cup of tea most of the balm will transfer but your lips still feel extremely moisturised.  after about an hour of wearing this lip Crayon I noticed the balm was gone but it left behind a nice stain which was mostly pink at this stage.

There is a slight scent from these Lip Crayons it puts me in mind of old lipsticks, its not strong but you still get a little sniffle of it.  I was pleasantly surprised by these and actually quite like them them.  I cant say they leave my lips moisturised for the full 10 hours but they surely leave them soft and moist for the most part of the day.  The stain it leaves behind is not strong but puts a lovely colour on the lips and lasts a good 5 hours before you see it complete disappear.  This is by far a fun, joyful and bright shade to wear in the summer or any-time of the year you want to be honest there is no rules to when you should wear bright colours is there :) ;) The Following Photos are taken with Flash :) The first Photo is straight after applying and the 2nd photo is about 4 hours after applying

As you can see in the photo after 3 hours you can still see the stain and a nice glossy shine from the Lip Crayon :) Well done to Bourjois for creating yet another brilliant product and I will surely be going back to by another :) :)  Does it win over my love for the Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balms??  Well put it this way they are very very close in fact there is not much difference at all in my eyes only that Bourjois is a little cheaper than Revlon which is always a bonus :) :)  Another Plus is that the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons have SPF 15 in them ;)

Sharing the Love #19: Interview with Niamh from Anonymous Melon

Hey everyone how are you all today.  Well its that time again Sharing the Lurrvvveee :) :)
This time I am introducing Niamh from Anonymous Melon :)  She is a newby and its also my first time getting to know her I have really enjoyed reading her answers to my interview I hope you enjoy too :)

1.  Hey Barbie Welcome to my blog :) :) Can you tell us a little about yourself :)
Hi Nina! Thanks so much for having me.

I'm a 23 year old Media Officer with a passion for all things beauty and fashion. I'm from Belfast and studied at both Queen's University and the University of Ulster. I'm a qualified journalist currently working in Marketing and I'm loving it. I do graphic and web design as part of my job which is awesome. (I'm a multi-purpose employee!)

My passion is make-up! I love it. I love buying it, wearing it and writing about it. It's amazing that since I've started my friends have been asking me for make-up advice. It's lovely to know that people trust my opinion.

2.  Tell us a little about your blog
My blog is called Anonymous Melon  - bit of a strange name I know - but hey, it's unique right? As my tagline says it's just a little beauty blog. I throw in the odd rambling or fashion piece but really I just write about products I like, or dislike. I'm by no means a make-up artist so I rarely do tutorials but occasionally I show some of the looks I've created. (Pic attached)

3.  What inspired you to start up your blog
I'd been feeling quite down at the start of this year so I decided to give myself a hobby to keep my mind off things. In Feburary I bought the domain www.anonymousmelon.com but it wasn't until April that I wrote my first blog post. I was a little nervous at first but I've kept going and now I feel great whenever someone likes a post or leaves me a comment.

4.  What is your dream job?
I love make-up (I think I've mentioned that...) so I'd love to do marketing for a big brand like Benefit Cosmetics. I think their packaging is so quirky and fun so to be able to be involved in the design would be fabulous.

5.  Can you share with us some of your favourite blogs to read ?
Well, apart from yours Nina, I love Makeup by Saz (http://makeupbysaz.blogspot.co.uk/), Dazzledust08 (http://dazzledust-08.blogspot.co.uk/and Miss Budget Beauty (http://missbudgetbeauty.co.uk/. These girls give really down to earth and honest opinions. That's what I'm looking for whenever I'm on the hunt for a new product.

6.  Your favorite skin care, hair care and makeup products?
Oh it's so hard to pick favorites! I am loving the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm at the minute (http://www.emmahardie.com/product.php?xProd=6&xSec=2) My skin is so dry and sensitive that this works a treat as it's not too harsh.

For haircare - I am enjoying the L'Oréal Professionnel Potionizer Bi-Phase Leave In Spray Conditioner. It's great to make my hair shiny between washes :)

My favourite make-up company is Benefit Cosmetics! It's actually impossible for me to pick a definite favourite - but I do love Brow-Zings. Can't leave the house without it! (http://www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk/product/view/brow-zings

7   If you could give one piece of advice to someone who is thinking of starting up their own blog what would it be?
Just go for it! It's amazing once you start and you won't regret it.

8.  Can You tell us what is in you handbag?? (hehehe I like been nosey?  Include a picture ?
Oh goodness! It's so so messy - I'm too embarrassed for a picture. But I can tell you I've loads of make-up and my Slimming World manual. Always keep these in my bag.

9.  Where else apart from your blog can we find you aka twitter facebook etc.
I have a Twitter, Facebook and Youtube. Follow, like and subscribe :) It's free and I'll be super happy.

10  Any last words for us :)
I'd just love to say thanks so much for having me on your blog and to anyone who's reading this thinking 'my goodness, I could never start a blog' - just go for it! It's one of the best things I've ever done. I've met so many amazing people. It's so worth it!
Isnt she sweeeeet !!!! :) I hope you enjoyed and show Niamh some Love by clicking those follow buttons :) ;)

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick

Helloooooo My beauties I hope you are all well :)
Today I am sharing with you another product from The Natural Collection Range this time its the Moisture Shine Lipsticks :)  Its Not as if I have enough lipsticks of my own to play with I have to go and add not 1 but 2 more lipsticks to my collection lol :) Ah well the joys of been a beauty blogger eh?  Plus I just have to do it for my readers like honestly really I do :) ;)
Anyways back to the review I have noticed that you can only buy these lipsticks in store and not online which is a bit silly to be honest as they sell everything else online
I cant actually remember how many shades is available but I do know there are more than 6 shades so thats not too bad.  Each lipstick costs between €3 - €4 which is not bad for a lippie.
I am not going to go into the whole packaging malarky as I covered that on in the last Natural Collection review but as you can see it does look cheap which is a down fall but in my last review I didnt care about that as the blushes turned out to be lovely :)
Judging by the name "Moisture Shine" I knew these lipsticks were claiming to be moisturising leaving a shine and I wasnt wrong.  They certainly put you in mind of the Revlon Lip Butters :)
Firstly I will show you the shades then tell you what i think of them
Firstly we have Rose Petal

This is a light nude peach pink shade a perfect shade to go with a smokey eye.  To be honest this is a little on the pale side for me but for anyone with pale skin this would work for them.
Next we have Rose Bud

This one is my favourite shade out of the two.  This is a lovely rosey pink shade with golden shimmer.  The shimmer adds even more shine to you lips making your lips a little bigger.
Now for my opinion and to be honest its not going to be as positive as the blush review :(  First of all because the packaging is light and sort of cheapish I found the lipstick detached itself from the stick after first application and that's not just with one that's with the two of them.  I know that its not a great deal as you can easily depot them into little pots but you shouldn't really have to do that when you purchase a lipstick.

The Formula is very smooth and creamy and feels lovely on the lips as I said it feels more like a Lip Balm than a lipstick.  It look beautiful on the lips but I feel I have to seal it with a gloss or apply a lipliner first to make it last a bit longer.  The lasting power is not great if you eat and drink it literally lasts as long as a lip balm.  There is a slight scent off the lipstick a kind of false scent but it wears off about 5 minutes after application.

Application is a breeze it applies like a balm you dont even need a mirror to apply the lipstick the pigmentation is light but build able.  It does also look lovely on the lips and its a perfect light lipstick for the summer especially on your no makeup days and you want a little colour to your lips but in the winter time I dont see myself reaching for this and feel it will be left to one side until next spring/summer
I am wearing Rose Bud with a gloss over it in this picture
Overall they are not the worst lipstick I have tried but to be honest I wouldn't go repurchasing them either.  Compared to the ELF Essential line lipsticks that cost the same amount of money ELF lipsticks are much better in packaging, formula and lasting power
If they were a lip balm I would say thumbs up for sure.
Have you tried these out yet?  What is your opinion on them?
Until next time
Lots of Love Luck and Laughter
