PowderPocket Box March 2014

Hello my beauties 

Its that time again :) :) 

My 3rd box arrived to my door and of course I was super excited to open it up.  If you remember Last months box I was kind of meh about it as I suppose I got my hopes up too much about the fact that Maryln Monroe was on the front of their magazine and I was think makeup and all sorts but according to you guys out there the box looked fine and you were impressed with what I got :) :) 

I have to admit since Then I have used the product I got and was quite impressed especially with the Body Shop Shea Shower cream mmmm it smells good :) :) 

The Jessica Brilliance Top Coat I use every time I use polish and find it surely makes my nails look super healthy and shiny. 

Ok so Enough about last months and more about this months :) 

Well Let me tell you know I am more excited this month about the box Superrrrr Excited :) 

Why??? Read on ;) 

I have to say one thing I love about getting the PowderPocket is the little Magazine even though its little there is always a good read in it .  So Now we know what this box is based on lets get started :) 

I know I know Exciting already hehehe 

Water Wipes - Sensitive Make-up Remover Wipes:  Retailing at €3.49 per pack.  We Got a Full pack of these yeeeee.  Ok we all do it or did it hand up I did and sometimes do too.... Using facial wipes to remove our makeup and sometimes it can feel hard on our skin.  Why does it feel that way?  Well everytime we use a facial wipe we are taking a layer of skin off our faces that is not ready to be removed so that why or skin feels tight or red or we even get that stinging feeling.  Thats why they advise us not to use them.  I was even told that the hospitals are banning baby wipes which means you can not pack them in your bags when you are prepping for birth.  Unless they are water wipes.  I was so glad to see these in the box for two reasons 

1.  Water wipes are suppose to be perfect for everyone even new born babies and now they have made some for us beauty geeks 

2.  This is a 100% Irish owned brand yeeeeee I love it :) 

I will be doing a review on these soon :) :) 

Lavera - 2 in 1 Hair and Body Wash:  Retailing for 200mls (full sized) €6.42.  This is said to be suitable for the whol family because it is Certified Vegan which mean 100% organic.  Its said to effectively cleanse the hair and body without the use of synthetic ingredients and para-fens.  With ingredients like Organic Lemon Balm and Calendula Extracts its said to help keep the skin soft and hair manageable leaving a refreshing fragrance.  

The fragrance definitely smells organic, it kind of reminds me of T3 oil only milder.  I will look forward to using this one :) 

Ghost Fragrance Sample:  Retailing at €34 full size.   This actually smells divine.  I am sure alot of you have sampled this already in your local pharmacies but it will be nice to sample this little beauty a few time to see how long it lasts and how it smells against my skin.  Its stated to have become a modern day classic.  This might become permanent on my dresser we will have to wait and see :) 

Ginvera BB Cream - Retailing at €21 for 25 mls:  I have to be honest me and BB Creams don't get on at all.  I have tried a few in my lifetime and they have either came out too orange or made me look sick.  So Sampling this one will be interesting.  This BB Cream has come all the way from Singapore.  Its enriched with premium Green Teas, Ginseng, Chinese Angelina and Hyaluronic Acid.  It claims:  They provide the benefits of Blemish Free Concealing, Sun Block Effects, moisturising and reduction of lines.  To be honest there is not enough in this tube to make your mind up about it I think maybe one go and thats it.  That's not enough for me to part with €21 

Shiseido - Perfect Rouge Lipstick:  Retailing at €27 full sized (we got full sized )  Claiming A creamy lipstick that provides intense moisture and treatment effect with all day colour and radience.  Finish:   Rich colour with silky radiance all day hydration to treat dry or damaged lips.  Provides Glamorous full lip effect, smoothes on easily to disguise lies and roughness and colour fade technology guarantees the colour stays true all day long.  Hmmmm alot of promise there :) Cant wait to try it (Well actually I wore it all day yesterday so will have a review up soon ) 

Well that's it Now you can see why I am super excited about this box.  2 Full sized products in it.  Then of course a make-up product.  Its a box of goodies I am already playing with.  Look at that lippy wowzer.  The fact I paid only €15 for this box but just with the 2 full sized products alone I got double my moneys worth and more :)

The New F30 Sculpt Brush by Blank Canvas Cosmetics

After Nars release their new Contouring brush called the "Ita" brush it became one of the most talked about makeup brush on youtube and the most wanted!!!! but to be honest I dont think $40 for one little brush is easy to part with no matter how good it is but youtube is proof that people have been parting with it and it must be as good as they say making us beauty geeks dying to try it and adding it to our wanted lists.  I know I did and for sure thought I would never get the chance to try something like that because of its price.  

Thats until I watched Sineady Cadys's Tutorial and seen the very brush only in Blank Canvas style (Halleluiah) :) 

Todays review is on the New F30 Sculpt Brush by Blank Canvas Cosmetics 

This brush is going to be released on the Monday 31st of March for only €19.99  (Mark that on your calender because this little beauty is going to sell out I can feel it)  on the site and I am sure alot of you makeup geeks and artists are going to jump to the chance of owning this.  

Let me put it this way if you are not a contouring queen or just cant get the hang of the whole contouring business you are going to be a pro in seconds.  

I would say I am not a pro when it comes to contouring from dramatic to everyday contouring can be quite tricky depending on the brush you use to do so.  Before I got this brush I always reach for either the e.l.f Cosmetics Angled Blush Brush or the Blank Canvas Cosmetics F16 Contouring/Powder Brush or even the F21 Angled Contouring Brush for my contouring which are all great and do a brilliant job but sometimes to be honest I feel I haven't mastered the amazing contoured look you see on magazines or even on some of the love gurus on you tube 

Can you see my reflection lol good job i'm covered as I have no makeup on while taking these photos :) :) 

Anyway now you can master the contouring with this brush girls and gents either for day time or night time for drag for anything I love it :) :) You can use this brush with both cream and powder bronzer or foundation depending on how intense you want the contour.

The New F30 is designed to help you achieve the perfect contoured look without leaving any tell tale signs.  With the densely packed synthetic fibres you are going to achieve the first stages of contouring from the moment you place the powder or cream on that brush and then to under your cheek bone.  This creates a percise line that is perfect  and you dont even need to do your usual fish face to achieve it as the size of the brush once placed in the right place creates that perfect line from the top of your ear to where the contour line should end.  Then because of its soft fibres you can blend this line until its even and more natural looking 

As you can see just by the length of this brush its the same length you line should be under your cheek bone.  I am in love with this brush so much it makes me want to contour every day.  I have to admit I never really tried the cream contouring the intense contouring that Kim Kardashian does as I was partly not sure of it plus I didn't feel confident enough to do it.  But since getting this brush I have tried it TWICE and delighted with the outcome.  It really does make sculpting/contouring the face alot more easier and more noticeable without the tell tale signs.  

This brush is so easy to use even a child could become a pro at contouring :) :) 

Is it worth trying??? YES YES YES if you are a makeup artist and need a brush that is going to lessen your time at sculpting and contouring YES YES YES if you are a newby who want to learn the easiest way possible how to contour YES YES YES If you like to contour but cant sit for a long time trying to achieve that perfect contoured look this is the brush for you.  I love how quick this works for me even when I contour all over the face 

The Picture below I did a day time contour with the darkest shade of the Blank Canvas Cosmetics 6 pan palette,  I used it on my forehead as I have a high forehead and under my cheek bones .  I hope you can see the contouring as the lighting is so bad due to bad weather.  I had only 15 minutes to get ready this morning and with the help of the F30 Sculpt Brush I was able to fit in some contouring which usually takes alot longer to do with other brushes :) :)

Blank Canvas Cosmetics F21 Angled Contour Brush in Aquamarine Green :)

Hello My beauties Yes I have BCC Review for you today :) 

I just had to mention this little beauty 

The Latest releases of the new brush from Blank Canvas Cosmetics is unreal and surely getting all of us makeup goddesses drooling Well I know I have been 

With my beautiful collection of brushes I have already built up I do think I have finally got them all when Bang in comes yet another new brush which is added to my wish list.  When BCC first started to release the brushes they were all in the normal colour black.  Then out came the F20 which is one of my utmost favourite brushes in Hot Pink Well the excitement was too much.  What a perfect way to add that pop of colour to your makeup brush collection.  Then came the F22 in a fantastic Purple colour I just had to get it and Now there is the F31 in Aquamarine Green.  Perfect for St Patricks day just gone or simply because green is our (Irelands) Colour :) :) 

Well as you can see I Have it and today I am going to review the brush itself :) :) 

The F21 Contour Brush is from the HD collection and you know what that means right !!!! Guaranteed HD effect from this beautiful little creation.   Its handmade synthetic fibres means you can use this to apply liquid, cream and powder products :) 

This little pride and joy costs only €13.99 and is available to buy on its own or with the rest of the coloured collection which contain 4 brushes the F21, F22, F23 and F24 for €44.99 

Oh my goodness if only you could feel how soft this brush is.  Think feathers no no actually feathers can be scratchy ok think cotton wool, your favourite fluffy jumper or favourite fluffy pet that you like to just hug all the time.  Well this brush is that soft.  The pictures dont lie :) :) 

 You can use this brush to apply your foundation which works amazingly because its angled it can reach everywhere.   You can also use this brush for contouring I particularly like to use this as an everyday contour brush as its soft flexible and blend out my powder bronzer perfectly leaving me looking like my cheeks are fuller and contoured naturally.  

You can use this brush as a blush brush I especially like to use this to blend out my cream blushes because it blend it out evenly and flawlessly.  

There is not one thing bad I can say about this.  It washes amazingly and doesnt loose its shape or fibres.  Its stays soft even after washing and spot cleaning.  Its soft and feels amazing against the skin.  The fact that its a multi purpose brush make it even better but using it to contour works brilliantly as it blends out the harsh lines leaving you with the natural looking contoured face you desire and want

Cocoa Brown Chocolate Whip Body Moisturiser

Hello My beauties I hope you are all well.  

Todays review is on the Cocoa Brown Chocolate Whip Body Moisturiser 

MMMMM Chocolate mmmmmm Oh sorry I went into a little trance there you see I am off Chocolate for lent and so far I am doing well and havent broke it but I Tell you something its getting harder as the days go by especially when I have kiddies around me eating it lol 

So I couldnt wait to get my hands on this moisturiser because at least in some way I can say I am getting my Choc fix lol 

Marissa Carter first released this beauty in November of last year I know I know Shame on me for not buying it sooner but to be honest I had so much body moisturisers to get through I just had to promise myself to wait.  I was delighted to finally get my hands on this to see for myself what all the raves was about :) 

As you all know I am a huge fan of Cocoa Brown Tan and never reach for anything else for instant tan that lasts for at least 5 days long.  Its not only natural looking but smells amazing and looks amazing.  Well Marissa decided to come up with a moisturiser to ensure your Cocoa Brown tan fades slowly and evenly.  How is it suppose to ensure that ?  Most body moisturisers these day have some sort of oil in them which makes your tan fade quickly where as the Cocoa Brown Chocolate Whip is oil free.  The fact that Cocoa Brown Tan is water based mixing a moisturiser that contains oil in it doesn't mix well with water based products.  

Marissa States:  The moisturiser is also highly nourishing to your skin and has benefits beyond that of maintaining the perfect Cocoa Brown Tan. Chocolate Whip contains panthenol, which is suitable for acne-prone skin as it moisturises while leaving pores clean and clear. Forming a barrier on the skin’s surface, panthenol helps to protect against everyday environmental damage.  It also contains Vitamin E which helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks, age spots and also strengthens the skins barrier function.

So now that you know the facts Over with let me show you the products and tell you my thoughts 

 As you can see the moisturiser looks exactly like chocolate mmmmmm.  Let me tell you now a little goes a long long way with this.  I wouldnt say this moisturiser is thick but it certainly is not thin one little squirt of this like the one in the photo would do the whole arm :)  Apon application this spreads out very evenly and soon the chocolate colour fades to white then clear.  I am amazed at how quick this absorbs into the skin and yet my skin feels so moisturised and fresh and cool.  

Oh my goodness the scent..... Wow oh wow is it beautiful.  You might actually think it smells like chocolate but it doesnt.  The smells is like the tan itself.  Cocoa Brown explains the scent as Tahitian Gardenia scent with an injection of Cocoa and thats exactly what it smells like .  You get this beautiful floral scent from the Tahitian Gardenia with a hint of cocoa its amazing.  The scent also lingers all day long and even on the clothing you wear after applying.  

Another great thing about this moisturiser is that you dont just have to apply it while you are wearing the Cocoa Brown Tan but also when you are not.  You can use it as an everyday moisturiser aswell.  I am super impressed with this I have to say.

Even today I ex-foliated shaved and showered and usually when I do this my legs which are super dry end up still flaky even after moisturising I tell you know not only are my legs super soft and smooth but they look super moisturised and flake free.  

I am in love for sure and will surely be repurchasing this when I run out :) :) I have also tried this over my tan and it works amazingly giving me the moisture and shine after 3 days of wearing the tan It actually made my skin look like the first day of tanning :) :)

Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser in Aloe Fresh

Hello My beauties I hope you are all well :) 

If there is one thing that is important to me it looking after my skin and I dont mean just my face neck and hands I mean the whole body.  There are so many moisturisers out there for all different skin types.  There is alot I have used some I have been happy with some not so happy with.  The one thing I hate about some moisturisers especially for the body is the ones that take forever to dry.  Come on like honestly who wants to stand around for minutes on end waiting for the blasted thing to dry.  Been a mum of 5 a quick shower in the morning before the school run is all I get and when I want to moisturise I want something that i can apply quick simply and dries asap.  So when Vaseline announced they were releasing the Spray & Go moisturiser I was so excited The answers to my prayers on those crazy busy mornings and days :) but was it the answer????

Vaseline Spray & Go has 3 varieties to choose from 

Aloe Fresh - Green Bottle (infused with pure aloe for healthy fresh skin in seconds)

Cocoa Radient - Brown Bottle (infused with pure cocoa butter for healthy glowing skin in seconds)

Essential - Yellow Bottle ( infused with pure oat extract for healthy soft skin in seconds)

I have also noticed they have brought out 2 more varieties this time for men.  They haven't arrived here in Ireland yet but I am sure they will be here soon.  

There is 190mls per bottle and costs around €6 - €7 each which is a bargain and if you are superdrug or boots fan there is a chance you could nab the 3 for 2 offer and get all 3 if you like it :) :) 

As you can see the spray comes with a handy lid.  Al you have to do is twist the lid, spray and twist again to close Genius for on the go right? :) 

The first time I used this was right after the whole deep ex foliating and shaving malarky that goes on after my shower and I found the spray very cooling again my skin you know what its like after shaving scrubbing and hot shower you skin is instantly on fire but this spray instantly cooled me down that's one plus :) :) 

The spray itself comes out like a light lotion.  Spray one long spray up each leg down each arm and everywhere else you desire and simply rub in.  It takes literally half the time to apply everywhere than a normal body lotion and dries almost instantly into the skin.  The scent of the Aloe Fresh is absolutely amazing.  Its hard to pinpoint what the scent is but you will certain smell fresh and clean. I found the scent lingers most of the day :) 

Overall this surely is a moisturiser I will be reaching for now that the winter months is passing by and the warmer weather is coming in.  As for winter months I personally prefer a more heavier moisturiser 

Plus I have noticed that if you suffer with very dry skin this might not reach your needs.  I suffer with extremely dry legs and feet and I did find even though the Spray & Go gave a little moisture I found I still had some flakiness afterwards.  Everywhere else was smooth soft and had a lovely moisturised glow.  I find this brilliant for the on the rush days it dries super fast and is not sticky whatsoever.  I also like to moisturise my kiddies skin I have done since they were babies and I have also found this great for them especially.  Sometimes it can be a nightmare trying to moisturise kiddies especially when they are all hyper after bathing but with this Spray & Go its as easy and quick as ABC :)  Plus they find it fun & Tickley when I spray all over them and they get to rub the moisturiser in :) 

I would definitely be repurchasing

Cover Girl Flamed Out Mascara

Hello my gorgeous beauties 
How are you all today :) 
Todays review is on my current mascara I am using.  I recieved this mascara in a swap with the lovely Shannon From The Creation of Beauty :) She lives in America and I told her I never really tried Cover girl so she sent me this Mascara.  
Correct me if I am wrong but This Mascara roughly costs about $6 to buy and was only released last year 
Cover Girl Flamed Out Mascara comes in 2 types Waterproof and Non Waterproof I have Non Waterproof.  
The Shades available are :
Very Black Blaze (this is the shade I have)
Black Blaze 
Black/Brown Blaze 
Brown Blaze
Cover Girl Promises:  This is a  mascara that provides maximum volume to create a bold, winged-out look. The unique wire brush coats your lashes and curves them up and out. 

The Packaging I love and its very easy to find amongst my crazy amount of unused mascaras in my draw lol 
The brush on the other hand you will either love or hate.  Sometimes when I am in a hurry I hate it as it is an hourglass shape and can be a little big.  There are mascaras out there with hourglass shape that are bigger so I would class this as a medium sized compared to others.  I do find when using this mascara in a hurry it can create a little mess but when I am careful I have actually learned to love the brush as it does separate every lash and helps me get every lash covered even the small ones.  
I did find at the beginning I made a mess on my lids until I got used to the brush itself after 2 or 3 uses and in all honesty it really does the job.  I like that every time I take the brush out of the tube it does not gather too much of the mascara in one go it has enough to do the two eyes :) 

I really really like the formula of this mascara and the more you use it the more you will like it.  Sometime when I buy I new mascara The formula can be a little too wet and can create clumpy lashes after two coats but with the Cover Girl Mascara it didn't do that.  I was really impressed with the finish after two coats my lashes looked incredible full and black.   
It certain does what it claims by giving me volume Two coats of this little beauty gives me incredible volume after 3 coats you might as well me wearing falsies :) 
I was asked the other day What falsies I was wearing I told them I wasn't I was wearing this mascara :) here is a before and after picture of my lashes after 2 coats :)   It holds my curl for the whole day.  Below is a photo of my lashes before and after 2 coats For a closer look click on the photos :) :) 

This mascara has surely impressed me :)  Its super black, smudge proof and doesn't budge until I take it off.  It hasn't effected my eyes at all and so far there is no flaking after using it about 2 and half months.  I expect this should last me another month before it dries up on me but i will keep you updated :)  For a $6 mascara you cant pass this by without trying it :) :)
