Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Lip Color Review

Hello My beauties How are you all today :)
I absolutely love it when i share with you my good experiences with products and the fact that 98% of what I have reviewed are all positive but there are times I feel I should share with you products that I have had bad experiences with also.  After all we like to know this as much as all the good dont we?  Well i like to get warned about products that I might think would work for me but infact could end up been a bad buy.

This review is one of those bad experiences reviews :(  which I am sad to say as Wet N Wild is a huge favourite of mine and it will continue to be but of course there is always one or two products from every brand that does not live up to their expectations.  After all they can not be always perfect can they?

This is one product that did not live up to my expectations and it really does sadden me to say this it really does because everything apart from its performance impressed me alot with these Megalast Liquid Lip colors but before i show you why it disappointed me let me tell you a little about this first
To Be honest I am still a little confused at the prospect of this because after reading reviews from other bloggers they painted a picture of this product been amazing yet I come across other reviews in which bloggers had not so amazing reviews about it so of course I just had to find out for myself.
What I love about Wet N Wild is the amazing amazing pigmentation they offer on all their products be it their eyeshadows ,  their blushes and their lip products so you can only imagine the pigmentation these Liquid Lip Colours have to offer and I can not put a wrong marking on that as they are extremely pigmented.  One of my favourite Lip Products from Wet N Wild is the Mega Last Lip Color Lipsticks they are the bomb the pigmentation is amazing they are smooth and last so so long on the lips
Wet n Wild did not go wrong with pigmentation on these Liquid Lip Colors either in fact they are so pigmented you really have to take care while applying them or you will have a mess (in a good way)
Dont they look beautiful :)  Wet n Wild state:
Intense liquid color with built-in moisturizer provides one-step application for weightless, ultra-conditioning wear that lasts up to 8 hours. ElastiSilk formula combines flexible color adhesion with silky-smooth pigments for transfer-proof, even application. Paraben-free formula conditions and moisturizes with vitamin E that helps promote anti-aging, protects the skin's moisture barrier, and balances the lip's natural hydration for a healthy-looking, plump pout all day.
Well now let me tell you when I swatches these on my arm first I seen the promises coming to reality honest one swipe of this and I had instant pigmentation.  I could see the moisture and shine from the swatches and I could also see it dried into what looked like the perfect matte finish.  After it dried there was no budging it whatsoever and even when i tried to scrub this off my arm with soap and a scrub brush it only half budged off my arm as you can see below.

I made sure to prep my lips by ex-foliating and applying balm as I knew these were a stain.  At first application the liquid lip color looked amazing I literally only used one coat to completely cover my lips and it felt very smooth creamy and moisturising never mind the shades look fantastic

Thats when my smile turned upside down.  Once the product started to dry on my lips it felt stick and heavy and I could get this horrible gloopy feeling on my lips.  Not only that but I felt my lips had never touch a drop of water in about 2 weeks oh my goodness.  Then i looked in the mirror and too my horror I see the horrible vision in front of me :(

This happened to both lip products and to be honest I tried everything I mean everything to make these babies work.  My lips were in perfect condition, I even dabbed my lips a little with tissue to review the oils from my balm to see would that work.  I applied a lip pencil first then applied a thin layer of this over and the same thing happened.
The only way I could remove this was to use an oil based make-up remover otherwise this was not going anywhere.
It is such a pity they did not work out for me as the idea of them were brilliant.  Maybe Wet n Wild has already taken note of this and possibly working on the formula i really hope so because only for that they would be amazing.  As i stated before Wet N Wild has never disappointed me before and quite possibly ever again this is just one product out of many I have tried that didn't work for me.

Have you tried these before?  Did they work for you ?
Until next time

Guest Blogger #4: Mane 'n Tail Hair Strengthener Review by Makeup By Dolls

Mane 'n Tail have in their product lineup an advanced daily leave-in conditioning treatment which claims to provide essential protection to help achieve longer, stronger, healthier looking hair and in addition, act as a protection layer preventing heat damage from hair straighteners and hair dryers.
According to Mane 'n Tail, this product purports to nourish and repair, help prevent split ends, protect hair from heat and chemical styling and provide moisturizing and conditioning.  Forumulated with no alcohol, it is also meant to be safe for all hair types.

How should you use it?
According to the instructions, the product needs to be applied sparingly, the suggestion is to apply to your hands and run your hands through your hair, varying the amount according to your hair length and thickness.  It is a leave-in treatment, so it shouldn't be rinsed out.

What kind of hair I have:

It is probably considered distressed and damaged from a lot of colouring, and re-colouring, and stripping, and different colouring.  My own hair is thick, naturally almost black.  Its current incarnation sees it as ombré blonde tips up to dark blonde roots, but in about 15 years it has seen every shade of shade of blonde, brown and red imaginable.  It's extremely long.  It's dry.  It gets a lot of TLC in terms of expensive products to keep it looking better aesthetically than it is in actuality :-)

What I found:
First time, first use, meh.  Disappointing.  I used it as advised - sparingly, and applied to my hands instead of my hair.  I didn't use my usual de-tangler or my usual leave-in treatment conditioner.  I found that my hair was harder to blowdry than usual, the very ends (by far the dryest part of my hair) were dry, knotted and difficult to comb through while blowdrying.  How-and-ever, and importantly, I got an extra day out of my hair before having to wash it.  Interesting.  And when I actually washed my hair, it felt smoother and silkier as I was washing it.  Also interesting.

I love Mane 'n Tail products, so I wanted to give it another go, so I bore with it for another couple of uses.  Second use?  I sprayed it very very liberally, drenched the ends completely and utterly until they were literally dripping, and this time around, my hair blowdried much easier;  no knots, no dry and ratty ends dragging through my brush.  And again, I got a day longer than usual out of my hair before washing it.  And again, when I washed it, it felt silky as I was washing it.  The third time, I did the same thing again, drenched it completely, and it was the same - worked fine, dried fine, felt fine.  Happy days.  It doesn't leave my hair feeling as silky as my previous leave-in treatment, but the difference in finish is genuinely minor enough.

Do I recommend it?
Yes, most certainly - however I think that it might be a good idea to ignore the whole "apply sparingly" instruction - use a LOT of this stuff, especially if you have dry or chemically treated hair, and it will do a REALLY good job.  It works as a great de-tangler.  It works as a great protectant for heat styling.  It works as a great leave-in treatment.  What it won't do is replace any oil/serum you might have previously used on any severely dry ends, but I'll personally never give up my serum, I just love it too much!  Priced at €12.85 for 178ml however, this is a great alternative to much more expensive equivalents.  And much more find-able in most pharmacies these days.  Look here for more info http://www.manentail.ie/product.php?productid=17532.
Thanks so much to Siobhan for taking part I really enjoyed this read and might actually go out there and try this :) :)

Guest Blog Post # 3: My 2013 Makeup Favourites! by Shawna's Beauty Blog

So another year down and another year older! Over the past year I have been trying out a lot of new products and I have made some firm makeup favourites. All the products mentioned are my most used products and they have made their way into my daily makeup routine. I can honestly say that I could not live without these products and I will definitely be repurchasing them if I have not done so already!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
I’m sure you all have heard of Sam Chapman from Pixiwoo? The Real Techniques sponge is a great dupe of the Beauty Blender at a more reasonable price. It's sculpted for all facial contours and features. The sponge is a small and convenient size that fits into your hand perfectly. I love this product because it is so versatile and can be used for applying foundation, concealer, cream contouring and cream blush.  It gives a flawless finish and is super easy to use! This product is widely available worldwide for anyone interested. Feel free to read my full review on this product on my blog!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
This foundation is light weight and has a light to medium coverage. I particularly love the shade 010 Light Porcelain because it’s light enough for my pale Irish skin! It’s great for an everyday foundation.

Sleek Brow Kit
Defined brows have come into fashion with a bang and this brow kit it perfect for getting that look. It’s a great dupe for the Benefit Brow Zings and it is less than half the price!
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
This bronzer is very famous as I’m sure you know! Its matte, has great pigmentation, cute packaging and is the perfect contour shade.

 Mac Studio Finish Concealer
Best.Concealer.Ever! I can honestly say that I haven’t found another product better! It covers all my blemishes, stays put all day and one little pot of concealer will last you forever!

Sleek Blush in Rose Gold
This blush is the perfect colour for my pale complexion and it has a gorgeous gold shine when it hits the light. This blush is a great dupe for NARS Organism. This blush is highly pigmented and has 5grams of product! I use this every day and I love it!

Maybelline Great Lash
This mascara is great for length and volume. It separates the lashes nicely and doesn’t clump. What more could you want?

Rimmel Moisture Renew in 470 Glam Plum Fulham
I can’t tell you how much I love this lipstick! I’ve worn this so much over the autumn/winter season and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. For me, plum coloured lipsticks suit me more than red lipsticks. This product is so moisturising and the colour payoff is amazing. Great product.

Too Faced Natural Eye Collection
I love this little compact eyeshadow palette. I always bring this with me when I’m on the go and I can create any eye look with this. The qualities of the shadows are Amazing and are an absolute dream to blend! I got this bad boy when I was visiting the US last year. This was definitely a great buy if I say so myself!

Essence Liquid Ink Eyeliner
This liquid liner is incredible cheap but is a great product. Why would you pay for a high end liquid liner when this one works better? This product is only about €3 and the colour payoff is incredible rich. I’ve gone through numerous tubes of this and it never fails me.

Elf Studio Pressed Powder
I always use this for touch ups on the go. It has a mirror and sponge so it’s perfect for travel. For all you with oily skin, it’s great for controlling shine around the T zone. This has always been a product I’ve repurchased over and over again.

So here you have my 2013 makeup favourites! Stay tuned to my blog (www.shawnabeauty.blogspot.ie) for a tutorial using these products coming very soon. What have been your beauty favourites of 2013?
I’d like to thank Nina for the guest post on her blog, it has been lovely to feature on such an amazing blog!

BH Cosmetics Floral Blush Duos in Rose & Iris

Hello my gorgeous readers I hope you are all well :)
Todays review is on two blush duos created by BH Cosmetics.  These blush were released last year and ever since I have had my eyes on them so i took advantage when I purchased the its Judy Time Palette to buy these two aswell :)
First thing I want to say is I really wished I have bought the whole collection now Honest they are the bomb-diggitty

Every budding beauty needs the perfect cheek flush.  BH Floral Blush Duos are inspired by flower petals and their feminine, soft colors and include two shades inside each mirror, magnetic palette.  Swirl the two shades together and apply or use them separately to sculpt a lovely glow. by BH Cosmetics
Look how cute the packaging is.  I am in love with it.  If this is not crying out girly I dont know what is :) :)   You are getting the choice of 2 blushes in which you can use on their own or together.  You are also getting a nice sized mirror always perfect for travelling.  I love how the lid has a magnetic which helps keep the blush from getting damaged aswell as easy open and close.
There are 5 shades to choose from and get this they are all named which makes it even more sweeeet!!!!
I regret not going for all 5 shades now after trying these beauties out but the 5 shades are:
Tulip
Lilac
Rose
Iris
Daisy
Each cost as little as $4.95 at the moment which is 50% off which i presume is for the month of January as when I bought these I got them at the end of December at this price
As you can see I ended up choosing Rose and Iris

Ok Rose first of all is my utmost favourite and I think even if I get the other duos I will still pick Rose over them look how stunning the blush is.
On one side (left) you are getting a stunning deep pinky rose shade with a golden sheen Oh my goodness im in love with this shade soooo much.  Its perfect for all year round and with suit every skin tone.  A little goes a long way and its so creamy it blends into the skin beautifully I love it on the other side (right) you are getting a peach toned highlight which is also stunning and gives a golden sheen which makes your skin glow.  I use these seperately as you are getting enough glow from the blush but for days you want that extra glow like in the summer you can mix the two .  I am telling you all now if you get the Rose Blush Duo you are going to fall in love its amazing !!!!

Next up is :)
Oh my goodness this is beautiful too and I know i said that Rose was my favourite this doesnt mean I dont like this one
Iris is deep beyond deep but it doesnt mean I dont like it in fact I really like it.
Starting with the blush itself (left) you are getting a a deep plum shade which is matte.  This shade is stunning and very pigmented.  I can see alot of women of colour going for this one in particular and it would look absolutely stunning on them.  If used with a light hand this would suit anyone with light to medium skin tones and would actually give a more deep rosey colour if used lightly than plum.  I of course have to use a light hand on this blush and I love the fresh look it gives me.  I would tend to reach for this if i am going anywhere that involves cameras and its very effective that way
The other side (right) is more of a peachy coral with a stunning golden glow.  This could actually be used as a blush on the fairest of skins .  For me its more of a highlight which would be fantastic over a coral blush.  Mixing the two together works great as the first is matte so if you did want to add that fresh glow to the blush you have the highlight shade to do that :)

These blushes without a shadow of doubt are brilliant and very long lasting.  Of course the best thing about them is they are buildable which means you can go as light or as heavy as you want.  I found I didnt have to reapply my blush through out the day.  For the price you are certain getting just as good a blush as a high end blush with the pigmentation the longevity the shades and also the packaging what more would you need apart from a celebration that you only paid $4.95/£3.00/€3.64 for them :)
Have you tried them yet ?
You really should I promise you wont regret it I plan to buy the rest of the shades also so if you want me to show you swatches of them when I get them let me know :)
Here is a photo of me wearing Rose lightly on my cheeks can you see that beautiful glow it gives :)

Until Next Time Lots of Love Luck and Laughter :)

My Experiences with PhotoBox

Hello my beauties How are you all :)
Wow I woke up this morning and seen the most beautiful sky I have ever seen in a long time.  I look out the window and see the sun rising but the sky is filled with a beautiful colour of orange yellow and red not only that but see the trees and grasses and house covered in frost.   What an amazing view and a perfect picture moment.  On that thought I ran for my phone and took some photos you just have to capture these moments dont you :)
I for one love to take photos.  I am a little obsessed with it to be honest.  I have 5 children after all and want to capture everything.  I have to admit it when I was born my mum did not have a camera and I dont have many photos of myself as a child.  I have never even seen a photo of myself as a newborn which I have to admit is sad, so I think maybe that is why I have thousands of photos of my children lol.  They will thank me when they are my age I think.
The worse thing about been obsessed with taking photos is you want to get all of them printed out which can be very pricey.  Its sort of heart breaking not to get the photos you are proud of printed out due to not been able to afford it or getting one particular photo enlarged big enough to fit over the fireplace etc.  This is where PhotoBox comes in :) :)

I first heard about the PhotoBox website about 3 years ago where i got an email about a deal.  If you signed up to the website you could make a calender for only 99c at the time.  So I thought I would try it out.  When I received the calender I was absolutely amazed I had my own personalised calender with photos of my family on it :) plus i was able to enter birthdays on the calender while designing it.  So I went back onto the site and ordered more copies for my family for Christmas and they were delighted with them.
At the moment PhotoBox is doing a deal of 60% off Calenders so I strongly advise you all to give it a go :)

From then on I have been using this site for everything including Post prints oh wow the poster prints.  We always have the fear when a photo is enlarged unless done by a professional will not look as good as the photo taken.  Which is what I feared the first time I ordered mine.  I felt that the quality of the photo would lessen the bigger the poster I ordered.
Poster prints come in 16 different sizes yes 16.   The smallest size been 14" x 11"  £5.49 to the biggest bee 45" x 30" £24.99  :)   I first went with the size 20" x 16" which cost £10.16 oh my goodness I was totally amazed at the quality of the photo and how thick the photo paper was.  The poster print comes in a huge thick tube which protects the photo and keeps it from damage even if its dropped.  I was that impressed I went back and order a little bigger for my dad's christmas present.  And then I took the chance at the new year and ordered a whooper 40" x 30" Poster Print which I have to say is AMAZING and HUGE!!!!
a massive thumbs up for the poster prints too :) :)

I could go on forever about what this site can offer and the crazy affordable prices they offer but you would fall asleep haha above is some of what the site offers which is literally everything you can think of and more :) :)
They do the most incredible deals too which is an extra bonus because even without the deals this site is super affordable.
For example at the beginning of the New Year they done an amazing deal I just could not resist.  If you spent £100 on anything on the site you got 50% off so I ordered 1239 6" x 4.5" prints of my photos I had saved on my computer, plus 2 personalised mugs with a photo on it and  a 40" x 30" poster print and it only cost me after 50% was taken off plus postage which was only €17.47 altogether €68.64 An AMAZING deal
Not only that but you also get emails when your items are posted out, a tracking number and of course sign for delivery.  I am amazed with the speedy delivery they offer too.  They offer delivery to everywhere in Europe and also offer international shipping :) :)
Customer service is absolutely brilliant too if you have any questions at all they get back to you straight away
I just had to give this company a review because I am so well impressed with the services they offer and the fact that they treat their customers like royalty not only that they provide the best possible quality items at cheap prices.
I really could go on forever about Photobox but I think you get the idea I LOVE THEM and will forever turn go to them for my photo prints and of course they have a blog in which they show you ideas in how to improve your photography and keep you updated with everything to do with their site :)
All you have to do to get your prints is upload your photos to the site and then order what you want.  They also print out your instagram photos and you can even print out your photos from your facebook page.   I also recommend you check out their advice section before ordering where they tell you what to do and how.
Have you ever tried this site before.
I hope you enjoyed this review
Until next time
Lots of Love Luck and Laughter

Guest Blog Post # 2: Textured Nails Using Striping Tape with Enigmatic Rambles

Enigmatic Rambles

For these nails I began by doing a gradient with A England Ascalon and Sleeping Palace
This turned out to be a very subtle gradient.
I then added some striping tape and used Barry M's textured Countess over the top of the striping tape and then I removed the tape revealing the pattern below.

Blank Canvas Cosmetics F22 HD Dome Face Brush Now comes in Purple !!!!!!!

Hello My beauties How are you all :)
You may remember me briefly reviewing The F22 by Blank Canvas Cosmetics before but today i had to do a more detailed review because now its available in another colour.  My favourite colour Purple !!!!!!!
Exciting Right?
Not only do I love the fact that its now available in Purple but I also love the brush itself even more than I ever did.  Its just one amazing brush that should be in every makeup artist beauty guru and anyone else who loves makeup's collection.
There is only 2 Brushes I love to use at the moment to apply my foundation and both are by Blank Canvas that is a) The F20 Brush which is a Flat top Brush and b) the F22 which is this one.
The F22 is a dome shaped brush which is designed to give you a more natural airbrushed finish to your foundation.  I am telling you theres more to this brush than you think.
It is amazing amazing for buffing out your foundations be it cream, liquid or mineral.

The Synthetic Fibres are so tight packed in there that the brush does not absorb too much product in which I find with some brushes.  There is nothing worst than using so much foundation and your brush absorbing most of it.  So automatically by using this brush you are saving almost half of your foundation.  Not bad eh?

Dont even get me started on how soft this brush is Ok Ok I am going to tell you.  Close your eyes and think of someone putting a feather to your face think of the comfort it makes you feel and how soft it feels well thats what this brush feels even after washing the softness is amazing which means its perfect for anyone with sensitive skin even my babies love to rub this brush on their faces whenever its clean that is lol.
This is also the perfect sized blush to apply cream blush I love it for that.  Its also perfect for contouring with because of its done shape it get right under the cheek bone, temples and anywhere else you want to contour easily.

Over all i highly Recommend this brush to everyone.   For only €13.99 You are getting you moneys worth and more and now that it has 2 different shade my favourite has to be the purple you can easily get two one for your foundation and one maybe for your powders etc :) at least you can tell which is which by the colour :) :)
Which colour would you pick Black or Purple

I hope you enjoyed my blog post and thanks so much for reading
If you are thinking of purchasing from Blank Canvas Cosmetics Enter "NINA" at the end for a little discount for all my lovely readers I Hope you enjoy
Until Next time

Guest Blog Post #1: Top 5 Highlighters by Lauren Marie

Hi everyone, I'm Lauren from Makeup By Lauren Marie and  I have put together my top 5 highlighters, weather you like to look OTT or just simply glowing, there is something here for everyone.

First up if your on a budget, I highly recommend Bourjois Java Rice powder, this is an illuminating powder that brightens the skin and adds a very subtle glow to the cheeks. Its so finely milled its a dream to wear and looks great applied to the apple of the cheeks and along the temples, I cannot recommend this enough. Still sticking with budget we have Sephora Rose highlighter, this is a little more obvious but still natural. Its a rose gold shimmering powder that looks super divine on the face. This is highly pigmented and for only €13 its a steal.

If you like to spend a little extra, Mac Soft & Gentle is a gorgeous highlighter, this is subtle, but still vivid, I do find that if this is applied and buffed in too much it can turn to glitter, so just sweeping this across your cheekbones and down the bridge of your nose with a light hand is the best way to apply it. This will catch the light and give your face that luminous glow. If you have pale skin and feel as though Rose shaded highlighters are a bit too dark for you, Nars Albatross is the perfect highlighter for you. Albatross is a yellow toned highlighter, that looks really unique, its contains hardly any glitter just shimmer and looks great on the cheeks, this can be applied lightly for a more natural look or it can be applied more heavy handed for a dramatic result. This one is defiantly one to keep an eye out for. Lastly we have the mother of all highlighters and that is The Balm Mary Loumanizer, this is the bomb.com literally. Its creamy, pigmented and looks like your cheeks are bursting with glowiness when its applied. This highlighter is for people who love highlighter so if your not one who likes to stand out, you may want to avoid this one.

So there you have it, 5 great highlighters ranging from barley there to in your face glow. Have I tempted you into trying any of these? Comment below and tell me your favourite highlighter.

You can read more from me on my blog www.makeupbylaurenmarie.com
