"Love this photo its great"
I recently ordered 2 compacts and 4 custom face refills from e.l.f UK site as they only have 50% off about a month ago.........
I have already reviewed the Compact in a previous Review Click here to view .
So i will go ahead and review the Custom Face Refills i got along with my compacts.
The Product
In Shades "Flushed, Bronzed, Coy & Glow"
Like the custom eyeshadows you are gettting a small thin box ingredients listed on the back.......inside the blush/bronser is placed in plastic that was formed to the shape of the pan. And the plastic is clicked-lock.   This is quite handy to keep in of you didnt want to buy the compact to put it in :)

The Shades

Flushed:  This is a beautiful strong rosy shade with shimmer.....The shimmer is not that noticeable when applied.......Be warn this shade is so so so highly pigmented you really need to use a light hand if you have fair skin or you will look like a porcelain doll........This is a perfect shade for anyone who has darker skin tone oh it would be beautiful :) This shade i will be purchasing again

Bronzed:  This is a nice bronze shade if you have fair skin use a light hand as this can make you look a little orange if you have medium skin tone this is perfect for you and i dont think this would make a difference to anyone with a dark skin tone.......this is a lovely shade and very highly pigmented so a little goes a long way

Coy:  This is certainly not the shade for my i would perhaps use it on my eyes but not on my cheeks......This is more of a brown shade plus gold shimmer.....I could see maybe someone who is a darker skin tone wearing this but not of an Irish gal like me

Glow:  I Love this shade love it!!!!!! I am A Lover of Peach and Pinks......This is a beautiful Peach shade with a slight bit of shimmer which adds a beautiful natural glow to your cheeks.  Its a little less pigmented than the rest but it is build-able which i like as i can wear it during the day in intensify it at nights out :) :)

The Swatches
Swatches in Normal Light
Swatches in Sunlight
My Overall Opinion
Ok to get the cons out of the way the only real con i have about these is the size....The fact that they are so highly pigmented i would love to see them in a bigger size.....they can be hard to use with a brush because of the size and if you use one often they wouldnt be long used up and maybe another con would be the fact they are a little powdery.  Thats all the cons i have the rest are pros.....I love the blushes......They are extremely handy for your handbag.......For £1.50/$1/€1.70 each you cant lose out.......If you havent tried these i recommend you give them a try :) :)

Thanks so much for taking your time to read my review and i hope it was helpful to you..
Take care

RECIPE for Lemon Meringue Pie

Hey everyone i thought i would do something different today and share with you my Recipe for My Lemon Meringue Pie.....For as long as i can remember my favourite dessert was Lemon Meringue and these days i found it quite hard anywhere to get that Perfect Lemon Meringue be it in a cafe, restaurant or shops, it can either be too lemony, too sweet, the pastry too soggy etc......So one day i just took it in myself to try and bake one for myself i looked up recipes and and tried lots of different ways until eventually i got it just right....Today im going to share with you my recipe:

My masterpiece
First of all For those of you who dont know what a Lemon Meringue Pie is i will explain:  Lemon meringue pie is a type of baked pie, usually served for dessert, made with a pastry base, lemon curd filling and a fluffy meringue topping. Lemon meringue pie is typically prepared with a bottom pie crust, but with no upper crust; e. g., the meringue is directly on top of the lemon filling. The dessert has been enjoyed since Medieval times, but the recipe for meringue was not perfected until the 17th century.

The Ingredients

Pastry

225g / 8oz  Cream Plain Flour
50g / 2oz caster sugar
150g / 5oz Margarine (room temperature)
1 Egg Yolk
1 Tablespoon Cold Water

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas 6. Lightly grease a 20cms/8" flan ring or dish.
  2. Make pastry: Sieve the flour and caster sugar together. Mix the egg yolk, water together. Place one third of the flour mixture in a bowl, add the margarine and the liquids. Cream with a fork until well blended. Add the remaining flour and sugar mixture and mix to a firm dough. Cover and refrigerate for about an hour.
  3. Roll out pastry on a little flour and use to line the flan ring or dish. Prick the base well with a fork, then, cover with well crumpled tin foil. This prevents the pastry rising during baking! Bake in pre heated oven for 20 minutes until set, remove the tinfoil for the last 5 minutes baking. Remove from oven. Reduce oven to 150°C/300°F/Gas 2.

Filling

50g / 2oz  Cornflour
125g / 4oz Caster Sugar
300ml / 1/2pt Water
Rind & Juice of 2 Lemons
2 Egg Yolks

 make the filling:
  1.  Place the cornflour and sugar in a saucepan, gradually whisk in the water.
  2.  Add the lemon rind and bring to the boil stirring until thick and transparent.
  3.  Remove from heat and stir in the strained lemon juice.
  4. Beat in the egg yolks and pour into the flan case.
Make the meringue:
  1. Beat the egg whites in a clean dry bowl until stiff.
  2.  Beat in the sugar slowly by adding a tablespoon at a time.......whip for about 3 minutes then add another tablespoon and so on until the sugar is gone and until glossy. Another tip to make sure the get the most out of this Meringue is at the end check the meringue is right by taking a bit between your fingers and rubbing it if its smooth its done if its grainy you need to whip a bit further .
  3.  Spoon meringue over filling, sprinkle with a little sugar and bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.

There you go everyone.......Now you might not get it perfect the first time as the filling and meringue can be complicated but dont give up on the first second or even third time trust me its all worth it in the end......This Pie is delicious and who said making a master piece was going to be easy eh?

If you do try this please let me know how you get on id love to hear from you

Thanks everyone
if you would like to see more recipes let me know......I am no chef but when you have 5 kiddies its fun cheaper and tastes nicer having Homecooked/baked food in your home.........I love seeing my kids faces and seeing them sniffing the air when they come in from school i want them to remember that to remember walking in the door and smelling homecooked/baked food......Get your kiddies involved when they are bored its messy but the fun and time you have with them is priceless forget the mess enjoy your kids while they are kids..........

Until next time
take care and happy baking :)

e.l.f Mineral Eyeshadow Review

e.l.f says Bring a touch of natural beauty to your eyes with these soft, translucent shades that add subtle highlights for daytime or increased drama for night. With key vitamins A & B, these eyeshadows hydrate and minimize the appearance of fine lines. Available in an array of light-reflecting color options they can be worn wet or dry, together or alone, for countless shimmering looks and trends. The all natural consistency makes them incredibly easy to apply and blend for a flawless finish. All our mineral makeup is 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.
As you have probably noticed i've taken a liking to the e.l.f Mineral Range lately....I think its simply because everything i have gotten so far from that range has not disappointed me REALLY........I have nothing bad so far to say about it......but i havent tried everything yet ;)
so anyway onto these eyeshadows
I got these obviously from the usual site eyeslipsface.co.uk while e.l.f was having a 50% off sale i took a notion to purchase quite a few of them.......they cost £3/$3/€3.40 each originally but  i got them for half price....  There are 26 shades to choose from and again eyeslipsface.com the US site has 1 new shade "Outdoorsy"  in which hopefully will come to the UK soon.
The Packaging
Please excuse that i have 2 shades the same in this photo which is "Royal" by a mistake
Ok these eyeshadows come in a little white box in which has the full list of ingredients on it.  The box is no different to any of the other mineral line make-up that comes in a box.....On the front of the box has a a long strip on the top indicating what shade of eyeshadow you have and also on the side of the box has a little circle with the shade colour and name on it

Now to be honest the shade on the box isn't exactly accurate to the actual shade you are getting but its roughly like it.....The eyeshadow container itself is again a clear round container with a black lid with "e.l.f eyeshadow" printed on it......but what i love in comparison to the essential line you can actually read what shade each mineral line product is.....whereas the regular line you can barely ready whats on the product at all...... on these eyeshadows it actually shows expiry date on them after opening which is 6 months.   Your are getting 0.03oz from each eyeshadow......
The Product/Shades

There are a Mixture of shimmery, frosty and matte eyeshadows in this range and i tried to order a mixture of all three....i must admit e.l.f has listed what is matte but you will have to guess the rest.
"Royal"
Royal:  If you are a follower for a while you will know that im a lover of purple eyeshadows all kinds so i have to say i love this one also.......This is a deep purple with silver shimmer and really really makes my green eyes pop.......This is highly highly pigmented a little goes along way oh maybe thats the reason i ended up with two of these lol they wont be wasted anyway.....this would work brilliantly with a smokey eye look

"Wild"
Wild:  This is another of my favourites....Its a deep/brown with gold shimmer....This too is highly pigmented.......This eyeshadow is stunning on its own during the day with plenty of blending you can actually take most of the shimmer away..........Its not highly liked by people mainly because of the glitter but to me you can work with it....this is especially nice for a nite out.......i like it :)

"Temptress"
Temptress:  This eyeshadow is matte.......Im in two minds about this shade...i dont hate it but i dont love it either.......This is a natural pink/mauve its more of a cool eyeshadow than a warm pink.......i was surprised my this eyeshadow i was expecting it to be more pink.........i have worn this as a crease transition and it does pay off as for an all over lid colour nope not for me
"Trendy"
Trendy:  This is a light taupe shade with shimmer to it....this is a beautiful light everyday wear eyeshadow......I actually find that this shadow isnt very long lasting even with primer it tend to wear off in which i find very unusual.....but the is very pretty and its great with other shadows
"Girly"
Girly:  This is a beautiful lilac purple with shimmer......I find this less pigmented than i thought......You have to pack on a good bit before you notice it.....its still a pretty shade and perfect for everyday wear
"Natural"
Natural:  I have to say i like this colour.......This is a beautiful beige/peachy toned eyeshadow with golden shimmer....now to warn you all there is alot of shimmer to this......some people dont like this because of that but again like i said before you can blend blend blend and that will calm down alot of the shimmer.
"Angelic"
Angelic:  I Love this shade its a perfect highlight.....This is a white eyeshadow with silver micro shimmer....This is actually perfect for a number of ways.....It applies great as a white liner of course used with a wet brush.......as a highlight on top of your cheekbones......even dusting on your legs and chest as a highlight.......i love this........I will definitely be using  this alot over Christmas....For a Winter wonderland look :)
"Celebrity"
Celebrity:  This is a lovely neutral slightly goldy eyeshadow..........Works great with primer...not so well on its own maybe because its a neutral toned eyeshadow...this is another perfect everyday eyeshadow.
"Earthy"
Earthy:  Awwwww i just love my green shades :) :) obviously because im Irish lol.......This is a fab green shade with golden undertone and gold shimmer.......This looks Fantastic in the sunlight awwwwww i just love it :) :) This too makes a great eyeliner.
"Sassy"
Sassy:  This is a beautiful rich coppery eyeshadow with shimmer......again this is quite shimmery and pigmented so a little goes a long way......this really makes my green eyes pop.  i really like this tone.
"Enchanting"
Enchanting:  This is a another matte eyeshadow.  Its a light brown.....Perfect everyday shade.  This is great on the crease with "celebrity" on the lid and a bit of wild on the outer V.  A nice light smokey eye for day time
The Swatches

Starting from L-R "Royal, Wild, Temptress, Trendy Girly Natural, Angelic, Celebrity, Earthy, Sassy & Enchanting in Normal light.....Please click on photo for closer look.  All these swatches are made DRY & NO PRIMER
Swatches in Sunlight

Swatches with Flash of Camera
My Overall Opinion
These eyshadows have actually surprised me alot of course in a good way.....I wasn't expecting them to be as good quality as they are.  Most of them are highly pigmented and so easy to use.  The are easy to blend and a little goes along way....The only fault maybe is too many of the have alot of shimmer i would love if e.l.f mad more Matte shades.  But i have to say they are great pigment eyeshadows i have not come across pigment eyeshadows this good in a long time.  Now of course you are going to have fallout using, so either do your eye makeup before you apply your foundation or prep under your eyes with loose powder so your can sweep away the fallout with a fan brush........
are these worth buying???? YES definitely i have even ordered more shades and cant wait to try them out

ok ladies thats it form me today
i hope you enjoyed my review
keep an eye out for an update on more of these

e.l.f Mineral Lipsticks Review

e.l.f says Now you can hydrate your lips and get a lasting soft color naturally! This nourishing blend of exotic oils, natural waxes, vitamins and plant extracts create the perfect moisturizing formula. The sleek lipstick has superior color payoff, glides easily onto lips, and is long wearing. Lips stay perfectly hydrated and soft throughout the day for no fuss, lip loving happiness. All our mineral makeup is 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.

If you are a regular visitor or follower you will know im not the kind of gal who buys in 1's lol i have to sample at least two or more of the same product and obviously different shades before i make i mind up about the product........well that is if they are great value and thats exactly where e.l.f is great for that im obsessed i have to admit and with the prices and great quality e.l.f has to offer im able to afford to buy more than one.....If its good i will keep buying different shade as you can see by these i have 11 shades so it must mean one thing :) :)
e.l.f Mineral Lipsticks are available on eyeslipface.co.uk & eyeslipsface.com for £3.50/$5/€4 each.  There are 16 shades available but recently the US site got 2 new shades as you will see on the site but anyway down to the review :) :)
The Package
This is a sturdy lipstick i have to say i feel safe carrying this in my handbag with no worries of the lid coming off or it been broken.  The lipsticks come in a white box with the ingredients and shade written on it........The tube of lipstick itself is made of hard black plastic with the eyes lips face written on the side and e.l.f on the lid......the lid clicks down so there is no fear of it coming off........Its not terribly exciting but to be honest what drugstore/cheaper lipstick packaging are....its all about the product at the end of the day isnt it :)

The Product
I Got 3 Additional Shades Since doing this Review and here they are  :)

Im sure you all or even most of you have at least tried one of these lippies if you havent .......put at least one on your next order.......These lipsticks are super soft and creamy........They are very sheer....Some of these have shimmer on them but apply matte actually all of them apply matte.......They feel so conditioning on the lips you feel like you are wearing balm not lipstick.......There are different shades to choose from like pinks, reds, natural and browns so there is definitely a colour or more for everyone.....There is no Scent or taste off these lippies which is what i love as i hate lippies that have a cosmetic taste off them..***Update i got 3 additional shade since doing this review girls so scroll down to read about them :) :) :)

The Shades
"Nicely Nude"
Nicely Nude:  This is definately one of my favourite everyday lipsticks......I love the MLBB look it gives me......As you can see its a lovely sheer pink and make your lips look so pretty....This is a perfect lippie to go with a smokey eye look...... LOVE LOVE LOVE IT

"Natural Nymph"
Natural Nymph:  This is definately a shade for us IRISH GALS :) anyone who has fair skin this is a perfect lippy for you anyone darker you will have to use this as a primer for another lippy or have some tinted lipgloss on the ready........This is a Nude/pinkish lipstick nicely moist and perfect with a gloss over it or on its own with a smokey eye

"Rosy Tan"
Rosy Tan:  I Love Browns.......This a a natural nude/pinky/brown lol if that make sense.......Its beautiful with a everyday look.....Its sheer on the first application but with a second coat you are getting a nice pigmentation from this lipstick......

"Pouty Petal"
Pouty Petal:  This is a lovely neutral pink shade it give me a MLBB look......Again a lovely everyday lippie its quite sheer to be honest there is lip balms out there that can give you the same look thats just my personal opinion to be honest i do love it i would just rather spend my £3.50 on another shade than have yet another MLBB lippy from this range

"Barely Bitten"
Barely Bitten:  This has a wee bit of shimmer but does not show on the lips.......Its a dark coral shade and perfect for any skin tone.....This is surprisingly more pigmented than the ones ive just spoken about.....I like that :)  This is another on my list of favourites and i will certainly be buying again

"Rosy Raisin"
Rosy Raisin:  Yet another MLBB lippy don't get me wrong i love lipsticks like this but i think a couple of different ones in the collection is fine but more than that is too much well in my eyes anyway.........Yet this does show a little shimmer on the lip but is barely noticeable as a lipstick some people like that but to me a lip-gloss can do the same thing.  This is a very sheer pink :)

"Runaway Pink"
Runaway Pink:  Now this shade has been the most highly recommended lipstick by most people who have bought it.....This would be everyone's favourite so you can imagine the curiosity in me when i purchased this first i couldn't wait to get it.........This is a very sheer light nude/pink.......again us IRISH GALS will love this shade as we have the fair skin for it .........Nice for an everyday lipstick and even nicer with a bit of gloss over it :)

"Party Pink"
Party Pink:  I Love This.........Now this is a pink lippie.......its the most pigmented baby pink in this pack i love it........Its so pretty and looks so moisturising on the lips......it actually makes my lips look a little plump.......This has a slight bit of shimmer to it but not noticable.......I suppose it all depends on the pigmentation of your own lips but if you have pale lips this will look very pink but wearable if you have pigmented lips this will look slightly pinky/coral i love it :)
New: "Royal Red
Royal Red:  Oh Girls this lippy is a surprising lippie.....Its actually one of my favourites i love it........Now Girls this is a Red you can definitely wear.....This isnt exactly red so the name is a bit deceiving but its more of a brownish red with a goldy undertone as you can see in the photo in which i took outside to show you the gold undertone........This shade is a buildable shade....It doesnt apply like this on the first coat so you have control of how much you want on your lips........This is a beautiful lipstick for special occasions or going out on a night out :) :)
New:  "Cheeryful Cherry"
Cheerful Cherry:  Now this is Red lol......Its a beautiful Deep Cherry Red shade....Quite Dramatic i love it......If you are looking for a good pigmented red this is the one........Now dont be afraid if you are fair skinned this actually works for us too :) its not a bright red but more blood red it applies brilliantly and doesnt bleed on the lip after a while
New:  "Bare Brown"
Bare Brown:  Now this is a shade that Doesn't seem to be bought or reviewed much.....I dont see why to be honest.......Ok its not the most exciting shade i have bought and to be honest i wouldnt wear this alone as it is more of a nude light brown shade but this is perfect for making my fairly pigmented lips more nude for other shades ......i dont really like using concealers on my lips to nude them out as i hate hate hate my lips dried out but this shade is perfect and moisturising and works well with another colour over it.....It also looks good with a dark smokey eye look but again as i said this lipstick is not going to be for everyone........

swatches in normal light
Swatches taken in sunlight
Click on picture for a closer look
Swatches of my newer shades "Royal Red, Cheerful Cherry & Bare Brown"

My overall opinion
I think these lipsticks are a great buy full stop.....overall you have a great choice in shades.....Some perfect for fair , medium and dark skinned people which is brilliant......I do advise anyone thinking of buying these to google swatches before you buy them so that you wont be disappointed in the shades when you get them........
These lipsticks are doing nothing but great things for your lips in which i love also......They are super moisturising and last up to 3 hours before top up.......
I highly recommend you buy them to try them i havent heard any bad reviews about these and im certainly not giving one either.  The only bad thing i have heard is about disappointing shades in which i have said to review swatches before buying......

I have more mineral lipsticks ordered so keep an eye out for an update.....I have the 2 from the US Site that are just in ordered too so im excited about that hehe....

Until next time ladies take care
Lots of Irish hugs and kisses

e.l.f Natural Radiance Blusher Review

e.l.f states:  Exquisite, delicate, pigment  that makes cheeks radiant combined with a healthy-looking glow.  Infused with texturizing agents, skin feels smooth and pores are minimised.

Imagine thinking back some of these blushers were some of the first products i bought from eyeslipsface.co.uk  i got these for £1.50/$1/€1.70 each.  There are 6 shades available i have 5 out of that 6 dont ask my why but i intend on getting the 6th which is "Flushed" that is in fact one of my favourites and i hit pan with the last one so cant even show you but i promise will update later :)
The Packaging
Starting from the top left "Shy, Glow, Bronzed, coy & Innocence"
I Know what your thinking wow it looks cheap right??? well you do have to admit it IS cheap for these blushes........you are getting .07oz(2g) of blush in this product....Yes it is small but believe me a little goes a long way........one thing i find annoying with these is the lid......alot of people have asked on a regular basis how to open these......I remember the first time i bought these i broke one trying to open it i took the lid clean off another blushes it was a mess but then i realised how to open them and i was happy again......Its actually quite easy i have made a video on these blushes (Please keep in mind its a no make up day lol and im taping from my webcam in which i have explained i hate doing as the lighting and swatches are not right) if you want to have a look  CLICK HERE on this i show you how to open them :)..........But it isnt really that complicated to open you just slide the lid up and BAM its open :) :) if it is stuck hold it over the steam of the kettle for a few seconds and it should work........another thing too is that if you have an empty palette case you can take the blushes out of the little containers and put them altogether in the empty palette case.....
The Product/Shades

"Shy"
Shy:  This is a Bubble gum baby pink shade with a slight silver shimmer to it......Very Very pigmented so beware girls....And i do have to add this is a little chalky and powdery but can you really complain for the price....this is grand for anyone with fair skin who just want an everyday blush but this wouldnt work out well for the anyone with a tanned or darker skin tone this would be more of a highlight to them .......in all it is pretty but if your looking for something more noticable this isnt the shade for you

"Glow"
Glow:  This is a beautiful Coral/peachy shade with s wee bit of gold shimmer....this is one of my favourites for sure....and it does live to its name it gives you a beautiful natural glow to your cheeks.....this one is a little more pigmented than "Shy" in fact a little goes a long way.  Again this is a little powdery in fact they all are but workable........

"Bronzed"

Bronzed:  This is a lovely everyday bronzer.....but you could also use this as a blush if you are tanned if you are darker this could be a highlight.......This has lovely little gold sparkle to it which makes you skin have that toned sown sunkissed glow.....But i do warn you use with is a light hand girls as it can make your face look dirty if you use too much......

"Coy"

Coy:  This is definately a winter blush......This is a Lovely mauve/Purley/pink with a light golden shimmer.....It gives you a beautiful natural blushed glow especially for the winter......again this wouldnt work well for anyone who is very fair as it quite pigmented....anyone with a medium toned skin tone this is perfect for......
"Innocence"
Innocence:  This is extremely light girls its a very pale pink and also matte......its too pale for me.....i would use this as a highlight for the inner corner of my eyes but as its matte it wouldnt even do for a top of the cheek bones highlight........This would be more suitable for my 13 year old sister to be honest at least she wont over do her blush with this shade........If you are super super pale you might make use of this :)

Swatches
Swatches in normal light of "Shy, Glow, Bronzed, Coy & Innocence"
Swatches in Sunlight of "Shy, Glow, Bronzed, Coy & Innocence"
Swatches with flash of camera of "Shy, Glow, Bronzed, Coy & Innocence"
My overall opinion
Ok There is a few faults with these blushers for example they can be chalky and powdery and can make a wee mess, they are also fairly small, also you do find that it can wear off and you need to top up during the day but they are only £1.50 and i am not going to complain about that.......I was pleasantly surprised with the pigmentation of these blushers......These are a perfect go for blush for during the day they are certainly not a going out blusher.......they are also perfect for carrying in your handbag because they are so small........the ultimate question is would i purchase them again ? I have and i will only certain shades though my shades for sure is ""Shy, Glow Bronzed and Flushed" for sure :) :) :)
They certainly are no way like the Studio Blushes but they are usable......:) :)

Well thats it from my everyone i hope you enjoyed my review and if there is any questions please ask away and please leave a comment i love hearing what you think!!!!!!!!

Take Care of yourself
until next time
