e.l.f Mineral Eyeshadow Set Review

e.l.f says: Bring a touch of natural beauty to your eyes with these soft, translucent shades that add subtle highlights for daytime or increased drama for night. With key vitamins A & B, these eyeshadows hydrate and minimize the appearance of fine lines. Available in an array of light-reflecting color options they can be worn wet or dry, together or alone, for countless shimmering styles and trends. They're all natural consistency makes them incredibly easy to apply and blend for a flawless finish. All our mineral makeup is 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.

I purchased this on eyeslipsface.co.uk on one of their 50% deals........These are 3 different types of Mineral Eyeshadow sets, the "Smokey eye, Expert eyes and Basic Eyes"......All But the "Smokey Eye" set was sold out so thats exactly what i went for......I havent heard too many reviews about this set for some reason so curiosity got the better of me i had to find out what they were like :) So These usually Cost £12/$12/€13 each but i got this half price HAPPY DAYS!!!!!

The Packaging
The Instructions on the Box on how to do a look with these eyeshadows
As you can see you are getting:
3 Mineral Eyeshadows (depending on the set you pick) but in this Set i got shades "Mysterious, Socialite & Seductive"
An eyeshadow brush
A Contour Brush
An Eyeliner Pencil with sharpener
They come in a box which has instructions on how to do a look with these shadows........It also has a list of ingredients and some information on what some of them mean.

The Products
The Brushes and Eyeliner

The eyeliner:  You are getting a Black eyeliner with this set......Its ok it wouldnt be my favourite to be honest....I would much rather use my own favourite eyeliner than this one but its not exactly the worst i have tried.......Its not entirely reliable applying it as its not very pigmented but heating it up with a lighter for 3 seconds makes any "Cheap" eyeliner work so theres the tip you you havent any other eyeliner to use.  Lasting power is ok too it will end up needing a top up throughout the day.....

Eyeshadow Brush:  This reminds me of the Studio "C" Brush a little......The studio one is a wee bit denser though......This is perfect for patting on the eyeshadow onto my lid.........it washed well too i only lost a few hairs from it which i am impressed with .

Contouring eye brush:  This is a great brush to apply the darker eyeshadows into the crease it actually fits into the crease very well and blending out the shadow.  Again washing this i only lost a few hairs.  They are fairly good brushes especially coming in a set like this :)
The Eyeshadow Brush

The Contouring Brush
The Eyeshadows
You are getting 0.03oz in each eyeshadow which is the same amount as the ones you buy separate Which Cost £3.00/$3/€4 each.  The package on these are the exact same as the ones i reviewed before to see them click here to see that review.......

"Socialite"
Socialite:  This is a beautiful dark grey taupy shade with a purple undertone......This is my favourite i even tend to wear this one on its own as its great to make my hazel eyes show up.....even in photos my eyes look greener than ever......Its highly pigmented a little goes a long way....and yes there is shimmer to it so this is more for a night time look but i cant help but go for this for during the day the shimmer you can work at just blend blend blend the shimmer to nothing lol.........

"Mysterious"
Mysterious:  This is a matte greyish lavender......Alot of people dont like this shade but i think it looks well with this set.......Maybe the downside to this is that its not hugely pigmented......This is also not as finely milled as some of the other pigments its a bit on the chunkier side.  It does apply smoothly so dont let that bother you......

"Seductive"
Seductive:  This is a Dark Charcoal shade......And of coarse matte.....I love this shade...simply because when you apply it you have an instant smokey eye without the mess your ready to go in 5 minutes.....Its so easy to apply and blend.

"Socialite, Mysterious & Seductive"

My Overall Opinion
Ok I was excited at the start about buying this kit and i made a vow i would get the others once they were back in stock....NOW im not as sure dont get me wrong this set was well worth the money especially when i got it half price but as far as paying full price and buying again i dont think so.....Reason been is i have plenty of brushes so i wouldn't really be gaining anything the next time......the liner isnt exactly a must have....which only leaves the eyeshadows in which i can buy seperate and i actually have them eyeshadows which are in the other sets.......but i would buy again if i was to buy them as a gift...........

I think its a great idea e.l.f came up with to do these sets especially for people who are only starting up with makeup and want some guidance in making a look or 2.

Well thats it everyone have any of you tried these set if so what do you think of them

Thanks for reading my review and dont forget to leave me a comment i love hearing from you all

Until next time

e.l.f Mineral Eyeshadow Review

e.l.f says Bring a touch of natural beauty to your eyes with these soft, translucent shades that add subtle highlights for daytime or increased drama for night. With key vitamins A & B, these eyeshadows hydrate and minimize the appearance of fine lines. Available in an array of light-reflecting color options they can be worn wet or dry, together or alone, for countless shimmering looks and trends. The all natural consistency makes them incredibly easy to apply and blend for a flawless finish. All our mineral makeup is 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.
As you have probably noticed i've taken a liking to the e.l.f Mineral Range lately....I think its simply because everything i have gotten so far from that range has not disappointed me REALLY........I have nothing bad so far to say about it......but i havent tried everything yet ;)
so anyway onto these eyeshadows
I got these obviously from the usual site eyeslipsface.co.uk while e.l.f was having a 50% off sale i took a notion to purchase quite a few of them.......they cost £3/$3/€3.40 each originally but  i got them for half price....  There are 26 shades to choose from and again eyeslipsface.com the US site has 1 new shade "Outdoorsy"  in which hopefully will come to the UK soon.
The Packaging
Please excuse that i have 2 shades the same in this photo which is "Royal" by a mistake
Ok these eyeshadows come in a little white box in which has the full list of ingredients on it.  The box is no different to any of the other mineral line make-up that comes in a box.....On the front of the box has a a long strip on the top indicating what shade of eyeshadow you have and also on the side of the box has a little circle with the shade colour and name on it

Now to be honest the shade on the box isn't exactly accurate to the actual shade you are getting but its roughly like it.....The eyeshadow container itself is again a clear round container with a black lid with "e.l.f eyeshadow" printed on it......but what i love in comparison to the essential line you can actually read what shade each mineral line product is.....whereas the regular line you can barely ready whats on the product at all...... on these eyeshadows it actually shows expiry date on them after opening which is 6 months.   Your are getting 0.03oz from each eyeshadow......
The Product/Shades

There are a Mixture of shimmery, frosty and matte eyeshadows in this range and i tried to order a mixture of all three....i must admit e.l.f has listed what is matte but you will have to guess the rest.
"Royal"
Royal:  If you are a follower for a while you will know that im a lover of purple eyeshadows all kinds so i have to say i love this one also.......This is a deep purple with silver shimmer and really really makes my green eyes pop.......This is highly highly pigmented a little goes along way oh maybe thats the reason i ended up with two of these lol they wont be wasted anyway.....this would work brilliantly with a smokey eye look

"Wild"
Wild:  This is another of my favourites....Its a deep/brown with gold shimmer....This too is highly pigmented.......This eyeshadow is stunning on its own during the day with plenty of blending you can actually take most of the shimmer away..........Its not highly liked by people mainly because of the glitter but to me you can work with it....this is especially nice for a nite out.......i like it :)

"Temptress"
Temptress:  This eyeshadow is matte.......Im in two minds about this shade...i dont hate it but i dont love it either.......This is a natural pink/mauve its more of a cool eyeshadow than a warm pink.......i was surprised my this eyeshadow i was expecting it to be more pink.........i have worn this as a crease transition and it does pay off as for an all over lid colour nope not for me
"Trendy"
Trendy:  This is a light taupe shade with shimmer to it....this is a beautiful light everyday wear eyeshadow......I actually find that this shadow isnt very long lasting even with primer it tend to wear off in which i find very unusual.....but the is very pretty and its great with other shadows
"Girly"
Girly:  This is a beautiful lilac purple with shimmer......I find this less pigmented than i thought......You have to pack on a good bit before you notice it.....its still a pretty shade and perfect for everyday wear
"Natural"
Natural:  I have to say i like this colour.......This is a beautiful beige/peachy toned eyeshadow with golden shimmer....now to warn you all there is alot of shimmer to this......some people dont like this because of that but again like i said before you can blend blend blend and that will calm down alot of the shimmer.
"Angelic"
Angelic:  I Love this shade its a perfect highlight.....This is a white eyeshadow with silver micro shimmer....This is actually perfect for a number of ways.....It applies great as a white liner of course used with a wet brush.......as a highlight on top of your cheekbones......even dusting on your legs and chest as a highlight.......i love this........I will definitely be using  this alot over Christmas....For a Winter wonderland look :)
"Celebrity"
Celebrity:  This is a lovely neutral slightly goldy eyeshadow..........Works great with primer...not so well on its own maybe because its a neutral toned eyeshadow...this is another perfect everyday eyeshadow.
"Earthy"
Earthy:  Awwwww i just love my green shades :) :) obviously because im Irish lol.......This is a fab green shade with golden undertone and gold shimmer.......This looks Fantastic in the sunlight awwwwww i just love it :) :) This too makes a great eyeliner.
"Sassy"
Sassy:  This is a beautiful rich coppery eyeshadow with shimmer......again this is quite shimmery and pigmented so a little goes a long way......this really makes my green eyes pop.  i really like this tone.
"Enchanting"
Enchanting:  This is a another matte eyeshadow.  Its a light brown.....Perfect everyday shade.  This is great on the crease with "celebrity" on the lid and a bit of wild on the outer V.  A nice light smokey eye for day time
The Swatches

Starting from L-R "Royal, Wild, Temptress, Trendy Girly Natural, Angelic, Celebrity, Earthy, Sassy & Enchanting in Normal light.....Please click on photo for closer look.  All these swatches are made DRY & NO PRIMER
Swatches in Sunlight

Swatches with Flash of Camera
My Overall Opinion
These eyshadows have actually surprised me alot of course in a good way.....I wasn't expecting them to be as good quality as they are.  Most of them are highly pigmented and so easy to use.  The are easy to blend and a little goes along way....The only fault maybe is too many of the have alot of shimmer i would love if e.l.f mad more Matte shades.  But i have to say they are great pigment eyeshadows i have not come across pigment eyeshadows this good in a long time.  Now of course you are going to have fallout using, so either do your eye makeup before you apply your foundation or prep under your eyes with loose powder so your can sweep away the fallout with a fan brush........
are these worth buying???? YES definitely i have even ordered more shades and cant wait to try them out

ok ladies thats it form me today
i hope you enjoyed my review
keep an eye out for an update on more of these

e.l.f Mineral Blushes Review

e.l.f states:  Create a subtle color definition to your cheeks that will add radiance and a glow, for a healthy look you can see. All our blushes are 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes

Hey Hey Everyone hope you all are well......Today I am Review e.l.f's Mineral Blushes i got from eyelipsface.co.uk.  There are 7 shades to choose from some are matte and some are shimmery...They cost £3.50/$3/€4 each ...........Now i Love my pinks, peaches and corals and this is exactly what i went for....I Purchased "Rose , Coral and Bliss"........
Now i will tell what the Website describes the shades as and then i will review them myself:
"Rose"(as Described by e.l.f) is a bright rosy pink
"Coral"(as Described by e.l.f) is a peachy coral
"Bliss"(as described by e.l.f) is soft blushed pink

The Packaging

In each blush you are getting .12oz.  You are getting your blush in a little round plastic container with a black lid.  They are about double the size of the mineral eyeshadows so you have got enough space to fit your blush brush into......inside you are getting a plastic sifter with fairly biggish holes so your best best is to pierce holes in the seal that is over them so you will only get a small amount of product each time you use it.......with that or just peel the seal half way off the sifter......otherwise you will have a mess after all these are loose blushes so its to be expected........

The Product
"Rose, Coral & Bliss"

"Rose"
Rose:  When i first saw this shade i had already fallen in love with it.......Its definitely my favourite shade it gives a beautiful rosy peachy flush look to your cheek....so unbelievably natural .........a little goes a long long way with this one........its very buildable so you can wear both day and night......I even pinched my face to see my natural blush look and its exactly the right match to my pinched cheeks lol.

"Coral"
Coral:  Now as you will see by my swatches later this shade is quite light......Its very near my skin colour in fact at the minute its a bit lighter because i got a wee bit of sun.......Coral is a beautiful Matte Peach in fact its a very light peach....Again its buildable and if you want a natural glow to your cheeks this is the one to go for.....I cant imagine that this blush would be suitable for anyone darker than fair skin tough......If you are very fair this is perfect for you

"Bliss"
Bliss:  I know what you are thinking....by looking at the photos of coral and bliss they look very familial right?? well believe it or not they are different shades :) This is a beautiful light peachy shade with a satin finish.......i love this its more noticable than coral but nearly only a little more pigmented.....this is a perfect day blush and gives you a beautiful natural flushed glow

Swatches
"Rose, Coral & Bliss" in Normal Light

In Sunlight

My overall opinion
I must admit it im shocked with these i genuinely didn't think they were going to be as good as they are!!!!!  The Studio Blushes from e.l.f are still my favourite but these are another of my favourites.....For the price you are paying for these we cant do much complaining....."Rose" is very pigmented especially the "Rose" blush but i would like to have seen the "Coral & Bliss" a little more pigment to be honest........These blushes are very easy to apply one sweep with your brush and you have an instant colour on your cheeks as i said "Coral & Bliss" are light in shade but still give you a fab glow.....Now the feel on these against your skin is lovely and silky smooth and long lasting i do admit it does need a top up half way through the day but again for the price im not complaining.....I will be purchasing the other shades for sure :) so keep an eye out for reviews on them :) :)

Well thats it from me ladies....again if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask....I hope you found this review useful....

Until next time take care
Lots of Irish hugs and Kisses

e.l.f Mineral line Bamboo Brushes

e.l.f claims:  This antibacterial Taklon bristled brush is 100% cruelty free, luxuriously soft and can be used with wet or dry products and is ideal for e.l.f. Natural Mineral Makeup. The natural and sustainable bamboo handle fits ergonomically in your hand for comfort and precise application. The recycled Ferrule is eco-friendly for guilt free beauty. Because beautifying yourself and the world is a beautiful thing!

This is my collection so far each one of these cost £5.50 each
I was really excited when eyeslipsface.co.uk had a 50% off the Mineral Bamboo Brushes as i always wondered what they were like but i have to say they were the last on my list because they cost £5.50 each whereas the brushes from the regular line and studio line were cheaper so always went for them........so When e.l.f had the sale i went out of my way to stock up :) i also purchased the Mineral 4pc Bamboo set
I have taken this picture from the e.l.f site as the picture of my set didn't turn out the way i wanted  but this is exactly the way it looks in person
About the Brushes
Powder Brush:  This brush is the softest ive ever felt i love the feel of it on my skin.  Its incredible this is perfect for any powder.  This brush is bigger than the Studio Complexion brush its brilliant for apply finishing powder or the e.l.f HD powder.  I also use this for my blush this does shed and washes brilliantly.  I was worried about using this as a blush brush incase it would stain and not turn out the same but it does........I highly recommend this brush

Flat eyeliner Brush :   This eyeliner brush is great a wee bit smaller than i expected the bristles a stiff yet soft and come in a straight line at the end.....Its great to get that perfect line with cream eyeliners and so easy to use the only thing i find is that it stains even after washing it but i dont mind....this would be perfect for the brows too im planning to buy another for that use also..
Foundation Brush:  Im in 2 minds about this one when it comes to using this for foundation i mean its ok but does leave streaks in which i have to use my fingers to blend out yet its great for concealer and cream blushes it gives a perfect finish i love it for that but foundation wise this doesnt work for me at all

Smudge Brush:  This is another brush you could have in your collection and really make use of i use this for alot of different things, this is perfect for setting your eyeliner with shadow,  this is also perfect for smudging and also perfect for giving you the perfect defined cut crease look.....i love it
All Over Eyeshadow Brush:  This is another favourite brush........This is a great brush for applying eyeshadow all over the lid evenly and mess free.......its nice and soft and picks up a nice amount of shadow......the only downfall i have is that its hard to clean even after washing if you use a dark shadow you cant get all the colour off.....thats why i save this for bright shades........and its a perfect brush for those on the hurry days when you have no time to blend blend blend thats how evenly this brush works.

Angled Blush Brush:  This is a perfect contour brush for me for my bronzer but i think anyone who has a more rounder face it would be a bit small....now personally i wouldnt mind it been a bit bigger but as i said it does the job.....this is so mush better than the essentials one in which that one has shed so many times it looks like it took a trip to the hairdressers :) Can i just add these pictures are from the site the very top picture is my own its just my camera was playing up on me so i had no choice but to take these from the site my point is the in this picture the angled brush doesnt seem to look angled but it is trust me...........This is another brush i highly recommend

4 Piece Bamboo Set
I was even more excited to get this set as it normally costs £15/$10 but i got this half price also and this is what you get for this price:
  • Complexion Brush
  • Concealer Brush
  • Blending Eye Brush
  • Mini Kabuki Brush
  • Brush Bag
Complexion Brush:  This is perfect to apply mineral foundation.....It can also be used to set your makeup in which i use it for and you could also get away with using it as a blush brush so in all its a multitasking brush in which i love :)

Concealer Brush:  To be honest this isnt what i would call a concealer brush its too thick for that and put it this way you will be concealing alot more than your blemishes......maybe it would work with powder concealer but certainly not liquid........i use this as a blending brush for my eyeshadows

Blending Brush:  Ok i must admit ive heard alot of mixed reviews about this and almost made up my mind before i even got this that i wouldnt like it but in fact i love it......Maybe its all to do with your eye shape on weither it works for you or not but i have fair biggish eyes and its works brilliantly......This is perfect for applying and  blending eyeshadows at the crease leaving it nice and even.....its so light and easy to work with in fact it cleans brilliantly as well no staining at all

Mini Kabuki Brush:  This has to be the cutest little brush ever lol i just love looking at it....its so tiny awwwww anyways you wanna know does it work??? well i suppose its ok for a wee setting your makeup brush or a wee travel blush brush but thats about it for me....its still so cute though :)

In all so i think its worth buying this set? well if you travel alot yes this would be quite handy the fact i got this for half price im pretty happy about it but if i were to pay full price i would probably not buy it.....

My overall opinion
I am absolutely amazed my how soft these brushes are.  All of them are in brilliant condition as in when you wash them they just go back in place.  They don't shed whatsoever which means they are going to last you a long long time.  I love the look of them as they look more expensive than what they really are.  The only thing i find fault with them is they are hard to clean well most of them anyway but the bristles are cream so you have to expect that.   I do think they are worth buying but personally myself i will wait until another offer comes in before i stock up on my favourites again.

Well thats it from me everyone let me know what you think.  I hope this was helpful to you all .

Until next time

e.l.f Mineral Moisturising Lip Tint Review

e.l.f says:  Nourish, pamper and treat lips with this super emollient, lip quenching color. Shea butter, Jojoba oil, Coconut Oil and Vitamin E impart serious moisture while SPF 8 protects lips from harmful UVA/UVB rays. This just-bitten tint of color provides immediate soothing relief to irritated chapped lips while also diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the lip area. Like all our mineral makeup this item is 100% mineral based with No Parabens, No Preservatives and No Chemical Dyes.

I am reviewing yet another new item on the US Site (click here to view them on the US Site) .  They have just arrived in the UK site today 11/01/2012.  (click here to view them on the UK site)
On the US & UK site there are 7 shades available in the Mineral Moisturising Lip Tints and they cost $3/£3.50/€4 each
The Packaging
As you can see they all come the same in a nice sleek handy black tube with the name clearly printed on the tube......also apart from some of the e.l.f regular line lip products where unless you have the package it came from you find it hard to make out what shade is on the little stickers its written on .....these have a fair nice sized sticker on the bottom with big enough writing of the shade on each one.  The lid of these tubes are great too.  When you place the lid back on the tube you get a "Click" sound which means you are guaranteed the lid is not going to fall off in your handbag i love that.......These are nice and small to even fit into your purse so handy if you are on the go.....
The Shades

Now at the moment im actually suffering with sore lips and very chapped lips i think its either from too many lip swatches lol or the change of the weather.....Normally i dont suffer from sore lips as i have a little obsession of taking good care of them......so i have put these to the test as in keeping my poor dry lips hydrated and moist and of course if this SPF8 really works :) :) i will let you guys be the judge on how my lips look in the photos :) :)

"Cherry"
Cherry:   I was thinking this was going to be more of a "Cherry" shade but it wasnt....Im not complaining tough it still gives my lips a nice natural tint it comes out more of a reddish brown shade but its nice and gives me that MLBB look :)

"Guava"
Guava:  This give a beautiful frost pinkish shade to your lips......If you have pale lips it will appear more pigmented

"Cinnamon"
Cinnamon:  This is alot more pigmented :).......It is a brown with a slight peachy pink undertone to it.....it really makes your lips stand out this is definitely one of my favourites

"Natural"
Natural:  Now this one definitely lives to its name......This literally evens out my lip colour....Its so close to my lip colour its not even that noticeable on my lips....but again if you have pale or dark lips this would be worth buying :)

"Rose"
Rose:  This is a beautiful natural pink shade as you can see by the photo it really brightens up your lips making them irresistible.........Another of my favourites

"Pink"
Pink:  This is a very light frost pink shade its nice but i prefer something a little more noticeable than this one again with this and "Natural" if you looking for any sort of pigmentation from these two you are not going to get that

"Blush"
Blush:  This is perfect for anyone with fair skin its a beautiful natural pink shade again brightens up your lips making them more healthier looking.....this goes well over any pink lippie :)

The Swatches
"Cherry, Guava, Cinnamon, Natural, Rose, Pink & Blush" taken with flash of camera

"Cherry, Guava, Cinnamon, Natural, Rose, Pink & Blush" in natural light
My Overall Opinion
Well i have to say i got a surprise when i received these believe me i was surprised they were as pigmented as they are....i wasn't expecting that actually i was expecting them all to be the same or disappointing as i seen a video on YouTube a while back of someone reviewing these and they stated they were in no way pigmented but as you can see yourself apart from a couple of shades(and keep in mind i'm missing one more which is "Berry") they were noticeable on my lips.
The formula on these lip tints are really creamy and so easy to apply.  They are moisturising but i did find in a way they were also drying i dont know if its because my lips were sore and chapped but it does say that these are made especially for people who have sore and chapped lips.....to be honest i wouldnt rely on these in the winter months if thats the case as thats the time you would need a really good moisturising lip balm.....i will surely be reaching for my e.l.f Studio Lip Conditioning lip balms instead as i find them more moisturising.
These are very suitable for the summer because of their wee tint of colour but to be honest if i were to choose between these and the Studio Lip Conditioning Balms i wouldnt choose these.......But if you have a teenage daughter, niece, cousin etc....these would be perfect for them starting off with lipsticks :)

In all i would give these 6/10 they are lovely and im glad i have them in my collection but as far as purchasing them again i wouldnt think i will but as i have siad before thats just my opinion :)

Ok Girlies thats my review on these i hope it was helpful
